The Death of the Euro

Post by AiA in Atlanta » Fri Oct 07, 2011 6:33 am

Prime Minister Thatcher has been proven right in her prediction of eventual failure of the Euro. And now Germany is calling the economic shots in Europe ... for now.

It has been a failure from the very beginning. I particularly remember Greece (who has suffered the most) having serious difficulty adapting to it when it was first introduced. The Euro has caused wars (Iraq & the petro euro) and stuffed up economies.

What will they use to replace it?

I am so glad the Uk never joined. It will only work when they have policial union, the United Sattes of Europe. Until then... it will just die a slow death.

There is gathering momentum in the UK for that country to leave the common market all together. They never adopted the currency and all it has done is penalise their farmers and open their borders to Euro migration.

That is probably a better indication of the weakness of the US ecconomy than the strength of the Euro zone. At least the US wont default on its debt now, several Euro ecconomies will default, it is inevitable.

So what was actually proved? You could use Greece to 'prove' the failure of anything you want, if you didn't understand the economics.

Hitler may have lost but Germany won as it is calling the economic shots in the EU.

In short, the coming Greek default will quickly spread, and some combination of the rest of the PIIGS—Italy, Ireland, Portugal and Spain—are likely to follow. The result could make Lehman's demise look like a walk in the park.
