Steve Jobs died
Apple Inc. said the company's co-founder Steve Jobs died Wednesday. He was 56.
Sad day.

Re: Steve Jobs died
I just read about it this instant. I knew he was very sick all along. He was amazing. As for Apple Computer, I've never owned any computer but an Apple. That is, a Mac. I'm on my third Macbook laptop. Love love love my Mac!
RIP Steve Jobs
RIP Steve Jobs

Was it the cancer that killed him or the chemo/radio? Cancer patients are often said to have died of cancer when it was the side effects of chemo that did them in. Had a relative that was treated for prostate cancer by the insertion of a radioactive pellet. The pellet gave him leukemia which killed him. Yet on his death certificate his cause of death was listed as "cancer." Really? I'd say death by radioactivity would be a more accurate description.

Be VERY wary of doctors. they run a business where the sicker you get, the richer they get.
annie - did he thank you for buying his product ?
you meant nothing to him.

In some cases I would agree it's true that chemo/radiation can cause more harm than the cancer. But it can help others. It all depends on the health of the patient to begin with, the kind of cancer, or how advanced it is.AiA in Atlanta wrote:Was it the cancer that killed him or the chemo/radio? In my case, doing ten high intensity radiation treatments to shrink my lung tumor last March has definitely helped. Over a period of six weeks the effects of the rads slowly shrank the mass by one third of the size it was when we started.
Over the summer (up here in USA) I began to gain some of the weight I had lost back again. Some of my worst symptoms of sickness went away. I think the rads have extended my life and my quality of life. And we can do more rads later, if the tumor is growing larger again.
I elected not to do chemo treatments. So I don't look sick the way chemo patients look, and don't get that chemo sickness people get. It just depends. Medical science keeps advancing, and I just happened to get top notch doctors as well. Things are not really so bad as I had thought.
But I have heard that pancreatic cancer is especially difficult to treat. That's what Steve Jobs had, and he was diagnosed back in 2004, I believe it was. So they were able to extend his life for about seven years, and I'd say that's a good thing.

It does seem pancreatic cancer is difficult to treat and rarely successful, if at all. Once you're diagnosed with it - there's not much you can do to prolong your life.
After all these years - so few avenues seem to have been explored in finding other cures for this insidious illness. If you are diagnosed with cancer - your choices are so limited. I wonder why laser therapy to shrink tumours hasn't been explored more thoroughly. There was an elderly doctor in WA who was successfully treating tumours for years with some sort of heat/laser machine that he had designed. He had hundreds of living patients to prove it - yet the AMA, the media and governments refused to give him the time of day. He was a threat to established practises and drug companies. He was quite old at the time and no doubt eventually died taking his revolutionary treatment to the grave with him.

Docs who treat cancer with alternative methods are usually brought down by the establishment. Remember Aussie doc John Harrison?

Perhaps he was the one I was thinking of - but I can't put a name to him. There are hundreds of Dr. John Harrisons in google unfortunately.AiA in Atlanta wrote:Docs who treat cancer with alternative methods are usually brought down by the establishment. Remember Aussie doc John Harrison?
It's true that the establishment shuts them down. There would be quite a few doctors who have spent their lives successfully finding a cure for cancer but their research will never see the light of day. Governments don't want to see the population grow old - they're too expensive to maintain.

Dr.John Harrison wrote a book called Love Your Disease. Later he was accused of sexual assault by a completely insane woman, a woman who had accused a number of physicians of the same thing, a woman who whose word was completely unreliable. The medical establishment used this to destroy him.mantra wrote:Perhaps he was the one I was thinking of - but I can't put a name to him.
