You're right Monk. I hate seeing mothers slap their children and they do scream louder. When mine threw a tantrum in a shop I'd walk away quickly and leave them (always kept them in view though). The shock always shut them up.

I can't see anything wrong with a cage though. It would look exciting to little boys and at least contain them in a safe area.
