Julia - you just don't get it, do you? This is not a centre-left vs centre-right thing.
This is a competence thing. You, your ministers and your government are utterly inept.
You are so bad at your jobs that I left the party because I was ashamed to be associated with your criminal incompetency.
I am still a moderate - I go left on some issues, I go right on others - but generally for years I associated more with the ALP than other parties.
Labor is not a brand in trouble because of individuality vs collective power or any of the old arguments that have been around for hundreds of years, and will continue to be around for the next hundred.
Labor is a brand in trouble because it is associated with corruption, incompetence and is a party where those who are rewarded are those who rise through union ranks.
End the power of the factions, end the grip of the powerful unions and you will begin to end the corruption and the incompetence.
You can't continue to elect the vast majority of your members from an isolated pool of people that are out of touch with the mainstream working population and expect to be embraced by the majority.
Julia - there are many people who would happily still vote for a centre-left party if they actually had a sense of competence.

am an ALP member and I voted Liberal in the last election and I will vote Liberals again!!
This ALP government has not nothing to with centre left. This ALP government is trying to beat the Centre Right at their own game.
Whether Centre Left is out of fashion or not, does not explain why ALP is unable to govern or win elections.
Guilard does not not know the meaning of repsonsibility or truth.
If she had any shred of integrity left in her bones, she would step aside and get Kevin back in charge.
She is a big shame to ALP and to Australia.

Love all the "I am a XXXX member" but I will vote YYYY next time.
So convincing! NOT!
A huge reform program is being undertaken and a lot of people become uncertain, listen to rumors, believe they have the right of it in their mind and rouse up enough to. . .write a letter to the editor (or its more modern equivalent) etc and tell people they hate the govt.
Right now the ETS Bills are progressing and will be passed. Next year the MRRT and then Labor can concentrate on bedding the reforms down and selling them and pointing to the huge reforms they have made and the benefits they bring. The next election will be difficult, no more so than it was in 2001 for little Johhny after the GST was imposed on us. 15% of the vote for the Libs is very soft, another few percent can be won through the self evident benefits of the reforms passed through this government.
None of the reforms will be undone by any future Lib govt. Oh, they may play with migration/AS a bit but that is all.

We should thank Julia and the ALP
Because of her, the left will see opposition for generations. Monk will be dead before his beloved party will see power ever again
Both of which will be a good thing for Australia
Lisa: LMAO! I will make you pay .. everyone will believe me. Your reputation is ruined .. I have lied but you can never prove it. I will claim I took snap shots of the screen you dill!! I will edit this as soon as you have read it .. No evidence

THE federal government is facing another internal revolt over migration law changes that will allow it to resurrect the asylum-seeker swap deal with Malaysia.
As well, the coalition has warned its support for the changes is "exceptionally unlikely" because the draft laws strip protections for asylum-seekers.
Labor's Left faction will meet in Canberra tomorrow to discuss proposed legislative changes to the Migration Act, released by the government late on Friday.
Left MPs are concerned the changes remove completely Australia's obligations under the 60-year-old UN convention on refugees.
They say the changes would remove legal protections and Australia's obligations to refugees.
The coalition is saying much the same thing.
Opposition frontbencher Greg Hunt says the government is planning to strip out the 1951 UN convention protections...........

In he unlikely event I win he Adminship, I will create a rule that every day sprint will have to write 1000 words of clear, lucidly argued political discussion on pain of banning.
That'll get rid of him 12.01am the next day.
Ahhhhhh no tantrums from little sprinty.

So, you're supporting that message, sprinty?
