If you decided not to watch the men's semi-final last night, between Nadal and Verdasco, you missed the game of the century. Constant and accurate big hitting, long rallies, and neither one of them blinked, until the last game, where Vedasco ended an awesome performance with a couple of unfortunate double faults.

Best game of tennis I ever saw, and I only saw till the end of the third set. Nadal deserves to win.

Yes boxy it was a fantastic game..and whilst Verdasco was taking it to Nadal , we all know how mentally tough Nadal is, he believes if he wants it badly enough he can do it..he would fight for every point...it could have gone either way..a lot of luck involved.
Nadal is gentle and gracious, but on court he is a warrior. A wonderful world number 1.

He only won one more point than Verdasco. They both looked as though they could hardly stand at the end. They reckon it's one of the best matches in tennis history, and it's certainly the best one I've seen for good tennis. The one Arthur Ashe won was the one I enjoyed the most.

They replayed part of it this afternoon (at least the last set, that I caught). That last game of the match was a doozy, the first point being won by Nadal after a 20 odd shot rally (hitting all the corners), the second point being the first double fault I remember in the whole match. The third being taken by Nadal, and then Verdasco coming back from 40-0 (3 match points down) with a couple of courageous serve volley points... especially memorable is the drive volley he came up with, that was returned for a smash winner.

Overall, Nadal was the better player, mentally, but can he come back from over 5 hours of flat out tennis to face the Fed tomorrow?

Yes I think so too..I want Rafeal Nadal to win the final...Federer is a good player but I'm over him..( Sampras bored me too in the end..)

Can Nadal come back? Well he only has less than a day after such a late finish to rest his exhausted body, so he may not step up fresh, but he is supremely fit,young and has the heart of a lion..I think he'll put up a good fight.

Some of Nadals shots are amazing. Especially those delivered down the line on the outside..they literally curve back into court, and he can pull them out at will it seems.

The women's match was a complete waste of time.

Safina should have let Dokic have a go.

It was..I cannot usually get into womens tennis at all..I like the power of mens tennis and the girls just can't delliver..except Serina..but I've always thought she would be better challenged playing the men anyway
