Look out.....tomorrow might be interesting!

Scoop.......Slipper is in the shit, locally. There will be a local LNP (divided) Branch meeting tomorrow, and the outcome just might seriosuly influence the voting balance in Parliament. For all you Libs, your old mate Mal Brough is in the thick of it!

Just a 'heads up' is all.

Can you give any details, or is this just the ramblings of a drunk taxi customer?

Slipper has been in the shit for a while, high expense claims, took the Deputy speaker job etc.

Mal Brough, who some think is shit hot (I think he is shit but there you go, he got a big swing against him (in Longman?) in 2007 then became Lib President and opposed the LNP merger.

Be nice if they boot Slipper from the Party!

Slipper can do what he damn well likes as he won't be preselected ever again! Harry should fall on his sword and let Slipper be the Speaker—and the ALP could campaign for him and if successful we might move towards the English system where the Speaker really is independent.

More scoop!!

The Coup was successful. Local Libs have given Pete the cold shoulder, and voted in the Exective which Slipper openly opposed, including Mal Brough. Let's now see how 'untenable' Slipper regards his position.

Labor has some options here:

Send Slipper on a nice long sabbatical or study tour, he will be a pair for a Labor guy

Make Slipper the Speaker, Harry becomes Deputy Speaker or a Parliamentary Secretary etc, one more vote for Labor.

These would be good, because Slipper on the cross bench might not vote for the ETS and MRRT or some humane AS solution which might involve bringing in pre-processed 10-40,000 AS for settlement directly into the community. Removing the log jam like that might reduce the number of people trying to jump the queue by making a dangerous sea voyage in a leaky old boat.
