Looks like the disability plans of the government are being very well received in the disabled community.

It is a great idea. Not a new one, but overdue in Australia.

I am not really sure what teh idea is- just see the concept- insurance and it kind of worries me. Not sure what it means makes me think of US health system.

No ele, it would be like Medicare, a national insurance scheme, paid by from what I have read a 15 dollar a pay check (on average) levy.

I have no problem with the idea but I think Labor should propose to eliminate the State Disability responsibility to eliminate bureaucratic redundancy and cost.

There should also be strict guidelines and tough tests on who qualifies, half of the people in my suburb get some sort of disability allowance and see them out on the oval every weekend having a good time.

Our Mall has so many disabled bays one would think WWI just ended.
