You shouldn't be breathing within 10 feet of this thread, either

Re: Paging Annie
Good luck Annie. I have been in hospital the last few days too.annielaurie wrote:Hi everybody! I came down with pneumonia - people with lung problems tend to get pneumonia more easily than healthy people - and I've been in the hospital all weekend, just down the street from my apartment.
Sat night couldn't breathe, called ambulance, got emergency care and was given my own room after that, was given oxygen non-stop and antibiotic, etc etc.
Am finally home, and a respironics company has delivered my very own oxygen compressor and a 50 ft transparent tubing to wear with a nose-piece, so I can walk around the apartment and breathe directy from the machine, which is in the front hallway - far away from the kitchenette or the wall heater which has a pilot light - can't be within ten feet of open flame.
Wish me luck!

Hi Ele, I'm sorry to hear you've been sick. I have COPD and came down with pneumonia. Whatever you've got, I hope you are safe and will feel better soon, hon ..

Thanks- all good so far- and I didn't have to bring oxygen home with me so I am relatively lucky. I do hope things improve for you- must have been very frightening stuff.

Re: Paging Annie
Glad you're okay, Ele. Tell you what, having to use this oxygen is a good thing, can breathe fine when wearing the nosepiece. But took a shower, so took it off, and also turned the machine off. Started to have shortness of breath so severe it scared the hell out of me. Had to hurry and get done, get the nosepiece contraption back on again. Maybe I can shower while wearing it from now on, I guess it won't hurt anything, it's plastic ..
