Petition for an amendment to the Constitution

A new paragraph should be added, wtte:

“Debate and consideration of changes to the constitution are to follow normal rules of debate. All proposed amendments must be considered first by the members and any amendments move be voted on and then the amended amendment put to the vote.”

Note that this has nothing to do with Aussie’s peculiar amendment, it is a separate issue. If Aussie’s amendment is passed you can scrap this one as I will no longer be around—the tyranny Aussie’s amendment will allow will not be nice kiddies!

And I'm afraid we cannot incorporate the formal Joske's Rules concerning Meeting Procedure into a Forum like this.

Monk....think of it this way...

When a Referendum is put to the Citizens of Australia, there is no capacity for amendment. You either vote yay or nay on the question. It is the same here for a different reason. Management of the Debate which allowed for amendment of the question would be utterly impossible.

It is easy enough in the case of an Admin initiated Referendum, as he alone could just adopt a suggestion and incorporate it, as I did in the case of Yogi's idea.

Impossible because of impracticality otherwise.
