Bikie wars: coming to a news feed near you

The great bikie defection
http://www.smh.com.au/nsw/the-great-bik ... 1b98j.html
... It is believed the main motive for the deal was to bolster Angels numbers to provide a strong front against the Comanchero. ...
... The clubs have been feuding since a Hells Angels tattoo parlour was firebombed by the Comanchero in 2008. The fatal airport brawl of March 2009 and subsequent shooting of Hells Angels member Peter Zervas were allegedly results of that.

It is a pity that the gangs have come to be so involved (reportedly) i crime and drugs etc. I was talking to someone the other day about how it used to be. Maybe the increased criminal nature of the gangs increases feuds between them and the fightingis based on money concerns rather than allegiances etc..

Never considered Sunny coast, but skirmishes tend to happen in areas with chapters of rival orgs.

For Angels and Bandits to get chummy here and in Germany, the Hell's Angels Vs Bandito war in America must be over.
OZ bikie world subculture has changed in last 10 years due to heavy infiltration by or recruitment from, and now apparent near take over by Lebanese characters.

In the mid 90s Sydney HA and Como chapters both frequented Sefton Hotel (had pole dancers) but gave one another a wide birth. As the mass recruitment by Rebels had new chapters (27 with 400 members) popping up all over the place, HA insecurty caused an informal HA/Como alliance Vs Rebel/Bandit friendliness. When Rebs and Bandits fell out, HA didn't need Comos anymore.

Meanwhile the Como recruitment drive was going nowhere (most unpopular club in OZ - Friendly only with Nomads and Gladiators). For example in 1996 alone 19 quit Comos, of which 5 did not defect to Rebs. Como's west (Sydney) chapter commander and sargeant tried to get whole chapter to defect, but noms sang, so commander and sargeant re-patched as Rebs - they and their bikes became Como targets. Then Como central coast sargeant defected and took 10 noms with him to new Rebel Central coast chapter. A Sydney Como chapter member also defected to Reb's central coast chapter, opened a tattoo shop in Budgewoi or Woy Woy and Comos torched it. Had already bombed Rebel Bringelly clubhouse about a year prior.
Comos toyed with recruiting western Sydney footy players (bikies and footyheads tend to clash) and even an Aboriginal manned chapter around Redfern. Don't know how a ranking Como's Serb mate's nomination being rejected because an existing member was Bosnian muslim affected internal club politics, I know some were p!$$ed off. This Bosnian member went back to Bosnia to support his comrades in nationality against Serb and Croat invasion, and took his bike with him, which the other Bosnians took off him. Then returned to OZ and cried on Jock's shoulder for 2 years because he didn't have a bike.
At this time recruitment didn't extent to Lebanese, but Jock (Como founder an prez) wanted anyone who could/would fight (bit of a paramilitary fanatic), and saw ethnic groups (eg Yugoslavs) as the place to look.

In 2002 Jock & Co were deposed as hierachy of Comanchero MC by Lebanese members. A very unreliable source claims Jock and former hierachy chapter have bailed from NSW and founded a new chapter on Qld's Sunshine Coast, but I would have to go back to Walsmly Rd Wiseman's Ferry and see new occupants in Jock's riverside house before believing the Como Sunny coast chapter story, as I find it hard to believe any rival club would allow Jock & Co to set up anything anywhere.

The Lebanese Comos seem to be rivals of the Lebanese manned Notorious, an off-shoot of Lebanese infiltrated Nomads, so presume Como - Nomad friendship is no more, and Nomads are at war with Banditos, so its hard to guess how bikie politics will play out, and where the next pub or shopping centre car park gun battle is likely to happen.
Meanwhile drive by shootings and home invasions at outlaws homes will go virtually unreported.

Thankyou for the rundown. You certainly seem to know a lot about bikie politics...

Within the last few months there was a HA initiated outlaw club pow wow in Taz, supposedly to discuss strategies to oppose anti-consorting laws. Could be a dodgey excuse though, because so far some state's attempted introduction of such laws got knocked on the head in the High court of OZ as 'unconstitutional', and remaining state's new laws remain untested.

20 odd years ago HA founded the off-shoot social bike club 'Bikers Ltd' as a pseudo-political lobby group, and ran 4 candidates in at least 1 NSW election, with Sydney chapter HA prez as 1 of the candidates. Probably only went as well as Dead Kennedys singer Gello Biafra's run for US presidency under the name Jerry Brown, because I don't remember anything coming of it.
Although in 1992 NSW adopted new ADRs (Australian Design Rules) requiring hardwiring of all new motorcycles lights.
This rule was killing motorcyclists, because for someone driving into the afternoon sun, a bike with its headlights on is virtually invisible.
Bikers Ltd organised a number of protest runs. During the 'Slug Run' about 1000 of us blocked traffic to the the Sydney Harbour Bridge and tunnel, so pollies from north Sydney couldn't get to state parliment in Maquarrie St.
So, turn engine off at toll gate, take gloves off, offer note rquiring change as payment, ask for reciept, put gloves on, start engine and ride X 1000 got NSW govt to allow NSW motorcyclists to ignore compulsory hardwiring ADR and fit on/off switches for lights on bikes.
Years earlier NSW motorcyclists were being penalised for parking rear to kerb. So a heap of motorcyclists rode into Sydney CBD and took up as many parking spaces as possible via the legal side to kerb parking. The govt changed the law to allow motorcycle rear to kerb parking.

Just noticed this almost meaningless headline ...

Comanchero bikies issued with traffic infringements
http://au.news.yahoo.com/a/-/australian ... ingements/

... so checked content ..
Police say 16 notices have been issued to Victorian members of a bikie gang on the New South Wales south coast.

Police stopped 17 Comanchero motorcycles and support vehicles at Bewong, south of Nowra, yesterday as members of two Victorian chapters travelled north on a national ride.

Police issued seven traffic infringements, five defect notices and three environment notices.

One senior member was issued with a licence suspension notice.
Earlier in the day, officers stopped a member of the Fourth Reich bikie gang and issued two traffic infringement notices.
Victorian Comanchero chapters?
New developement .. Comos under Jock's rule had only NSW chapters.
Most southern being Eden near NSW-Vic border.
Plenty of outlaw MCs have been expanding over last 20 years, notably the Rebs, but didn't see Como expansion coming.
So it's taken the replacement of Jock by a Leb to achieve what Jock wanted.
And expansion nearly always upsets a rival or few.

EDIT ADDITION - Como anniversary run used to be @ Easter, and it's compulsory, gaol & hospital only excuses for non attendance. A bit surprised they'd alter timing of celebrating club founding.
