1. How does your Constitution handle a case like your last, disastrous stint as Admin: members driven off, members banned, Admin tells people to shove it.

2. How would such a situation be handled in your Constitution?
Members were driven off?? Yes, I can recall two who were banned....you and Sappho. I doubt I told any Member to 'shove it.'

:)
Last time hole and corner techniques were used: kiwi_dave invited over, its first post was it signing the old Petition, Senexx also probably invited, Sappho unbanned tho had defied a ban and returned, me left banned and you too fucking stupid to see you needed me and should unban me. That crap shouldn’t have to happen again. We got boxy for another 12 months of boredom.
I do not understand your expression 'hole in the corner.'

I still have not worked out in my own mind what to recommend, but there has to be a set of criteria before you get to vote, or sign a Petition....assuming that process/model is what I put up.
In my view with members driven off/banned the few members left should have the recourse to have the Host boot the non-performing Admin and unban those he had banned and hold a fresh election—a simple majority in a Petition on OzPol would be the mechanism. Members banned by the Admin to be able to have their vote counted in the Petition.
So....a Member banned, thrown out, for consistently posting the real names of other Members.......would get a say?
3. You have also not answered my remark about the ban powers of Admins to be reduced or at least codified.
They are. See my Election Platform.
You banning me while I was suspended was the act of a snake in the grass.
Nah....it was the act of an Admin who gave effect to what you had posted (elsewhere while under suspension,) repeatedly......'bridge burned.....never going back there," etc etc. I am sure Annie will confirm that is what you were repeatedly posting about your Membership at PA., not that I need her confirmation, but it seems you might.
What say you Aussie.
Hmmmmm.....that you are being a complete pedant about stupid issues, and that you are imagining dramas where there are none. PA will evolve at it's own pace, not that set by you, a lone, whining voice.

I am listening to what you have to say, just like I am listening to what others say. When you are part of the majority, I will take greater heed of what you say. Until then, I remain of open mind to your suggestions, but I am not obliged to implement them just because you say I ought.

Now, have you rounded up those undertakings you say I have reneged on?

I see someone twisting and turning, trying to spin the bloody obvious—that you are trying to entrench yourself in the Constitution.

I will vote No to your proposed new constitution. I ask all here to open their eyes to what Aussie is pretty obviously trying to do.

An Admin who has driven off most members and banned some not for the reason Aussie came up with will not be able to be booted.

No thanks!

....and yet, I have already signalled I will likely resign after the new Constitution is bedded down.
I will vote No to your proposed new constitution.
Weird. Even I do not have a final concept of it. I am still trying to consult, and there you are, telling us you will vote against a proposal which does not yet exist.

Monk, what are your suggestions on the criteria for franchise? Don't tell me what the problems are with it...I know them. How about you tell us something positive.....??

Monk........fact is some people have left, not because I have driven them off, but rather....they want to blame my appointment of Annie as Mod. for their alleged departure. I can assure you, they all come along and read.....and then go off to DT's joint where just about all they talk about is....................PA. Your reference to 'ban' is ambiguous. Under my current Administration........ignoring an obvious sock, I have suspended two Members, one for 24 hours, and the other for a week, and very transparently, and for very good reason.

Getting back to the alleged 'twisting an turning......" I have asked you now many times to post these undertakings you reckon I gave and which you reckon I have reneged on. You have carefully avoided giving an answer.

Monk, not long after I was elected, you made a Post that you hoped I would honour a promise you told PA I gave to appoint you as a Moderator. I made no such promise, and neither have I given you any undertakings........reneged upon or not.

I hope you get back back to what you do extremely well, and you can do that by posting on any subject other than PA Administration/history.

You seem to know those others very well, and post upon eruditely.

Cheers, as always.

:)

Aussie, Monk does raise some very serious issues, and most if not all of your proposed changes would make it harder to get rid of a bad mod who did not want to let go. This is true regardless of your intentions, though given your history even that must be taken with a grain of salt.

You will not know if Monk is 'part of the majority' until after the vote. Are you saying you will not pay attention to what members ask for until after you have come up with your proposed changes and put them to a vote?

Freediver, you ought be the last to refer to history, as the very recent version establishes you abused the trust given to you by PA to be our Host, and not as you chose to be, our Grand Master. I have a mandate to remedy that, and the new Constitution will address your position. I think that is what Monk refers to as some 'hole in a corner,' but I am not certain.

You are as deaf/blind as he is........I am now consulting, and what I draft, and then propose, will reflect what the Members have asked for. Now is when you, and they, get to tell me your and their ideas.

For you....why should Admin not be elected on FPTP, given this is an election for Admin on a www Board, and not for the Government of Australia?

If you offer a cogent contra argument which most Members adopt, I'll go with what you propose.

NOIQ, somehow I doubt those words will find their way into the Constitution. But, rest assured, you will be treated exactly the same as every other PA Member.
