sighs ...

More evidence of someone who doesn't bother to read my posts in their entirety in a topic YET expects me to rehash them on demand.

It's something I find most annoying.

Where is that gorgeous IGNORE BUTTON again???

As regards your above question .. my advice?

1) Sit back and watch closely .. and do nothing.
Aussie, could you please ask Lisa the following... 8-)

Sit back and watch for what? What signs would you look for, whilst sitting back, to tell you that the market had probably bottomed?

If you like .. read back over our posts. I'm not going to repost them here for you. It's really easy to click back though ..
Yes you are talking to Leftwinger and the whole forum noticed that you fobbed him off with a vacuous answer to a valid question in a topic you claim to have sound knowledge of.

I'd be making my existing networks WORK for me. Nothing beats experience esp local experience .. so I'd definitely be clicking into that information source.

Get to KNOW the personality (for want of a better term) of the area/street in question yourself. Don't just rely on local experience .. get out there and see it for yourself. Test the opinions you're given .. coz you may very well be given different points of view. Also people like/dislike aspects of a particular area for different lifestyle reasons.

Watch the properties which go on sale in the area .. get the weekly auction reports .. go and attend a few yourself. See what comes up and what sells and for how much.

This type of basic research is the least you can do given one of those properties may very well be responsible for putting your head in a 30 yr mortgage noose.
Thanks again for your advice Lisa. Keeping a close eye on the place and in close contact with poeple in the know, plus the other things you have suggested will now be a personal project of mine.
Ok .. let's get back back to property. Perhaps we ought to completely ignore and post over anyone who enters to needlessly hijack and troll this othewise awesome topic.
Which is where the topic was at prior to the needless trolling session.

The trolling is soley a result of your inadequacy to reply to simple but quite valid questions.
Y'see its perfectly normal to hammer someone once caught out bull$#!++ing.
So be assured we're going to give you plenty of stick over it, 'coz its entertaining to watch a fraud squirm.

Yogi .. a quick question .. how long have your family been in Oz?

I'm only asking because my family have only been here 41 yrs. Before that they were in war torn ravaged Europe and most of my mother's side of the family were genocided.

My parents came here as teenagers with a suitcase of clothes and nothing more. No language skills .. nothing.

And within the 1st 10 yrs of being in Oz .. they bought/retained 6 properties (commercial and residential).

Some parts 3 generations, other parts upto 7 generations.

English, Scot, Irish X Irish, German, Afgan.

Why? .. does it matter? .. I don't see how its even relevant to anything being discussed or questioned.

You are saying that europeans from war torn nations are better investors than Anglo's of Australia. Great! Your racists and stupid.

Soo .. how about we ALL give this awesome topic another go.

In case you've not yet realised .. I'm really passionate about property. Even so .. in all fairness to IQ (who as we all know, consistently chooses to be an abrasive, crude and rude individual on here for some unknown reason), this is his topic and he does know quite a bit about the property market also (I've tested him out a few times and he knows enough even by my high standards of excellence and perfection lol).

It would be lovely if we could all jump in here and post in good faith.

There's so much to learn and discover if we share what we know (however little that may be).
Hmmm .. IQ's been a tad quiet since I posted this. Not sure why. Ahh well .. in any event, if anyone cares to look back, IQ and I had a great discussion on property earlier on in this topic ( when he was a tad nice n normal ).

There's a few good tips in that discussion also.

I want IQ to see this. Not sure wtf happened to him tonight. He suddenly went all quiet on me for some reason.
