Anyways... That poem is protected by intellectual property laws. That poem cannot be republished without acknowledging Monkey magic as the author and this forum as the source. I reserve the right to claim royalties should that poem generate income.

Good luck with that edit thingee. The tiniest change here is fought tooth and nail as if a sheepstation is at stake.

Decent interval to edit

Decent size for max font so can have a little bit of fun with typography occasionally

Decent size pictures

Decent size avatars

All too fucking hard it seems

I am part of a lost generation
and I refuse to believe that
I can change the world
I realize this may be a shock but
“Happiness comes from within.”
is a lie, and
“Money will make me happy.”
So in 30 years I will tell my children
they are not the most important thing in my life
My employer will know that
I have my priorities straight because
work
is more important than
family
I tell you this
Once upon a time
Families stayed together
but this will not be true in my era
This is a quick fix society
Experts tell me
30 years from now, I will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of my divorce
I do not concede that
I will live in a country of my own making
In the future
Environmental destruction will be the norm
No longer can it be said that
My peers and I care about this earth
It will be evident that
My generation is apathetic and lethargic
It is foolish to presume that
There is hope.
And all of this will come true unless we choose to reverse it.

Now read the above poem in reverse
OMG! That is brilliant! Author????

Genuine inquiry here, my wife thinks this is an awesome poem. AUTHOR PLEASE????

I saw your request posted quite a long time ago now... I've been waiting for Lisa to acknowledge the author but it seems she won't or can't. Disrespect or stupidity? It's hard to know which. Probably a bit of both.

Nonetheless... since Lisa has no respect for published writers and their right to be acknowledged nor the reader's repeated request to know the author... let me tell you.

It was written by Jonathan Reed, not to be confused with John Reed from an earlier time.

Hope that helps.

No probs... I've solved the problem by reminding people of my legal rights to the poem.
I've done a second edit you see... and it looks good enough to publish... just want to tinker a bit before it's done.

You automatically have copyright in anything you publish but you also grant permission to publish your poem here to PA by publishing your poem here—you cannot demand it be removed is what I meant.

On my board I have made that explicit but I believe the above is correct (I am no lawyer of course.)

No decent interval to edit shits me completely—in my above post I am itching to change the last “to” to “too” but cannot. Wish Aussie would pull his head out of his arse, spend more time here and fucking fix or at least let us try a few things, that so much to ask FFS?

Also can you and Lisa try and not bitch slap each other so often? thank you.

There are people like Lisa who see no problem in not acknowledging the author of a poem... so I am spelling out my rights because of people like her.

I have acknowledged the permission I have given this site to display the poem I published here... I have even allowed republishing but only if the author and this web site are acknowledged as the source. Equally, I have claimed my right to royalties should my poem on being republished generate income.

I did not demand that the poem be removed... I merely wished that I had a right to edit. There is a difference. As I have stated... the poem has been reworked and I wanted to update what is in effect an off the cuff un-worked first draft. it really doesn't bother me that I can't.
