How do you stop a forum troll from contacting you via PM?

I just logged in to find an insane PM by Mad Mellie .. which went on forever.

Naturally none of it made any sense to me. If anything .. it indicated to me how seriously sick Mellie is.

I don't wish to be contacted by this troll under any circumstance.

I've retained the PM .. and I am happy for the Admin and Mods to see it .. so they can perhaps understand why it is I have asked the question in my OP.

As I am a relative newbie on here .. I would like to know how I can block trolls like her from sending me PM's.

NB I already have her (and a few other trolls) on ignore .. so posting on the forum is ok because they "disappear" thanks to the ignore facility. I just need some assistance in figuring out how to place trolls on PM ignore.

Lisa, go to your user control panel and click your messages. Go to the tab "Friends and Foes." On the left, there will be "Manage Friends" and "Manage Foes."

Click "Manage Foes" and select a member name, which will appear in the writing box. Finish instructions and you will have blocked the members you don't want sending you pms.

Not insane Lisa, just some honest free advice, take it or leave it, delete it if you like, I wont be offended, just thought it might help you see some perspective this and get some idea why you think everyone around you is 'insane' yet ironically, a majority feel this way about you, just try not to state the obvious too publicly all the time.

Did you really find what I PM'ed you offensive, because if you require an unbiased opinion... I could post the screen saves for others unbiased opinion?

It's just, I thought you wouldn't want others reading what I sent you.. had an inkling you would make it out to be something it wasn't then delete it ....which is why I saved it.

I hate having to save things like this... it's abnormal, but when you go to such lengths to cause trouble for others and yourself online, you leave people with no choice, they have to arm themselves with something when like you have ...come back with something as off-beat and irrational as this.

Grow up, you are behaving like a defiant child.. I'm starting to think your handle is shared by more than one generation in your household which would make sense given what others have thought also.

Cut the crap stop the games...and try to mingle with others normally.

Who knows, you might surprise yourself and actually enjoy not having to fend off criticism (said trolls) every waking online moment.


Look, you are always screaming for attention... so I thought my PM would have made for a refreshing change.


Ps: Go into your user panel and simply block those you don't wish to receive messages/honest criticism from and or read here online.


... why bother opening it at all?

If a troll PM'ed me, I wouldn't, I generally ignore messages from people I think are a bit loose, as most normal people do.

OMG! Many thanks Annie. I am relatively new to this forum and as such I didn't know how to do this. I have her on "forum ignore" so I never read any of her insane rubbish anymore. I just want her on PM ignore also. That way I've basically placed her in her own cyber padded cell and I can enjoy the forum without any issue.

I will now do that immediately (but only after I show the Mods and Admin the PM in question).

Ironic that one puts their hand up eagerly to moderate various forums, yet by their own admission, struggles to so much as navigate their way through their own user panel?

You manage to build forums and pass around IP's on other peoples you sub-moderate....(wink nodge wink) but needed help to block someone in your own user panel?

See, it's contradictory dishonest inconsistencies like this that alert others to your being a fake Lisa, if you are going to be a liar, at least try to be an articulate one in the company of grown adults.

This and not make too many obvious mistakes.


Because it's gets a bit dull after a while... ho hum dum di da....

Mellie, here we go again! Will you please stop it? Lisa is a regular member here at PA, she is not a mod. Pastafarian and I are the mods. We are really the mods here, and we don't go by any other names or accounts.

Lisa cannot "pass around IP numbers" because she can't see them. Even I can't see member IP numbers - regular members can't see IP numbers, and neither can mods - only admin can see them.

There are no inconsistencies, Mellie. I don't know Lisa from any other board, I was never at Yahoo or OzPolitic. I know her only on this board, and I know what she can and cannot see and do here.

Annie, as the originator of this topic .. I am requesting that this topic be closed now. Why? Because I'm happy that my original question has been satisfactorily answered.

The said troll is now on forum AND PM ignore.

Also in closing this topic .. it will discourage a certain forum troll from following me around like a serial pest.
