Just as the push for government to provide a national telephone network was a pointless waste that no one would ever use. What was wrong with people going to the local post office if they wanted to make a phone call? The idea that every house in Australia would have a telephone connected was preposterous and a massive waste of money that would invariably fail.

No one thought about the internet when the copper CAN was rolled out, now it would be more important than making phone calls! Video alone, proper video, 1080p both up and down would need those speeds. Telecommuting, eHealth all need that video. Grandparents talking to their grandkids over high def video calls will want those speeds. There is plenty there to justify the NBN already in terms of ROI and the killer ap is yet to come.

As someone assigned to “kill” the NBN Truffles is doing a lousy job. He would be happier investing in a business that would profit from it.
