They will have to ban all gardening and perhaps a shovel/spade buy-back program will be undertaken.

Don’t be a total tool if you can help it. Cables are buried well below spade depth, d’uh! The only time a Telstra cable gets severed is when there is a cowboy on a major piece of earth moving machinery!

Seems that some aren't able to accept that the NBN is open to be violated whether accidental or not.
What matters is that the NBN is not the "be all, end a''" that they are trying to convince others of.

Further the NBN costing is unlimited due which really highlights the government's incompetence.

You should get off the drugs.

That granny was somewhere in Georgia or Armenia, not Australia!

It is pretty rare that a Telstra cable (or gas line. . .) gets dug up which is because they are buried well below spade depth. There is no unlimited costing. Get off the drugs harry.

It doesn't even look like the NBN will get off the ground.

Mass resignations of senior employees, the govt trying their spin AGAIN by telling everyone that 14 different companies were 'gouging' . What is actually happening is that you have a semi-govt department who have failed in their business case. No wonder liebor were shit scared to send it for a cost benefit analysis

This govt couldn't organise a sausage sizzle without fucking it up

For teh NBN to be salvaged so that Gillard can claim that a policy has been successfully implkemented will require the ALP to meet the new financial demands and that means a massive cost blow out (double the estimated $30-40+billion).
This in turn will require Gillard to search for another means of raising the added required revenue.
All along with her commitment that the budget will be in surplus by 2013.
The clock is ticking.
And to have a chance of meeting the surplus means that the NBN will be shelved until after 2013.

I reckon the biggest problem is that it will all have to run through Telstr lines, they own the network across the country,
Telstra rip everyone off now, they will continue to do this and still make billions more in profits.
