She did this over on Yahoo from memory, annie, are you the same woman who asked me about general anesthetic over on Yahoo?

If not, disregard.
No Mellie, are you crazy? I am not on any Yahoo forum. I don't know who you are talking about ..
I only asked a question, this and suggested you discard it if I had mistaken you with someone else,

No need to be so defensive.

No not really.... I'm all for a battle between equals. Also, you won't find me intervening where the weaker personality seeks to rub the stronger personality the wrong way... But, I can't abide a stronger personality attacking a weaker personality... it's bullying.
Sappho - please don't insinuate that I'm a bully - you couldn't be further from the truth, however I will speak my mind. As far as having a weaker personality - Annielaurie is a lot stronger and more cunning than you give her credit for. I could tolerate this board with Aussie & Boxy sharing the job - but no way should Annielaurie be appointed moderator.

It is completely unreasonable to even suggest her as a moderator - and as you pointed out - she's extremely ill and lives overseas. This is not a corporate job she's applying for - it's a position where the moderator has to understand the personalities of the members and also be tolerant.

I will just say that Annie didn’t fail in her assistance last time, all she did was help Aussie in his dunderheaded changes.
This is indeed what happened. I gave Aussie instructions about the mod control panel of this kind of board software in a pm, so he could move topics around the forum. That's all I did. Aussie made the changes, and members didn't like it, and there was an uproar.

For those of you who don't know, about a moderator position, or any mod position, I have six years experience as admin and global moderator on another Australian discussion forum, which is not related to this board. That's where I met Aussie, who has been a long time member there ..
Equally for those who don't know that forum Annie speaks of is a gentle place where people are nice to each other.
This is not a gentle nice place Annie... it never has been. It revels in witty nastiness. Provides great material for your writings tho... sound insight into building drama and exploring motives for that drama. ;)

Mantra, I'm really sorry you feel this way about me, that you believe the things you believe about me. They're not true. I have a great deal of experience on Australian forums, and know some aussies from far away as well as any close friends here where I live.

I would be honored to be appointed mod here, and would do my best, and even though I do have cancer and am being treated - have just finished radiation treatments today, as a matter of fact - I am on the internet most of the day when I'm home, and sitting in front of my computer is not a problem. It's what I enjoy doing, you know ..

This is where I am forum admin, and my username is nannham there,

Sappho, I do believe you've been a member there for a long time, even tho you don't post very often, am I right?

Yes indeed I know this forum is very different and people here can be very outspoken, but I'm used to that by now ..

Not whilst she has cancer and receiving treatment. That shit is emotionally draining.

Annie - you may very well be the nice person you portray yourself as, but as Sappho pointed out - you will not get the support here that you will demand. This is a diverse forum that doesn't need your style of moderation, regardless of your forum "experience". What is required is the experience of accepting different personalities without restriction and censor that makes a good moderator and we've seen how sterile, stark and lonely Monk's board is.

Monk's site might be "nice" on the outside, but inside and behind closed doors, it's ugly. This place doesn't have closed doors - and if there's any ugliness it is portrayed publicly for other members to see and challenge.

If you are the nice person you claim to be - don't accept this position. It will be the undoing of Aussie permanently as you well know.

You have no business telling people that I am registared and frequent a nice, gentle forum... next thing you'll be telling people I can be civil... I won't have it annie... I have a reputation as the drama queen of bitchydom with a bite to behold with awe... is that clear?

If you were made mod, you'd try and temper me... and I don't want to be tempered.

The even tempered Sapphovier? Played on a Lauriechord? I’d pay to see that!
