What does that mean Aussie? Has it got something to do with the moderator you are appointing? I hope it's someone we all like and trust!

Pasta hasn't posted that much - he seems OK, but judging from Skippy's post to Aussie - I don't think Pasta is who he has in mind. My bet is that the new moderator will be one of Monk's clan. Aussie is just putting members through this pointless exercise because he thinks we'll believe he's fair. I notice he hasn't put forward his suggestion of a moderator.

No one is being banned or put upon.
A mod should be good at modding, that is the only requirement.

Who would you like to see in the job Monk?Jovial Monk wrote:No one is being banned or put upon.

Re: Position of Moderator
I would be a great mod!
I negotiated with Aussie that a newby be appointed mod, someone who has been here, contributed, been sidelined from anything for being a “newby” etc.
It is not a popularity thing. Leaving because so and so got appointed would be stupid.
Ultimately the appointment is for the greater good of the board.

More silly wild speculation Mantra. My comment to Skippy was perfectly obvious. It will not matter who I appoint, someone will disagree....a no win for me.mantra wrote:Pasta hasn't posted that much - he seems OK, but judging from Skippy's post to Aussie - I don't think Pasta is who he has in mind. I think Mantra and IQS, would strike a healthy balance, with Mantra being left and conservative (behavior wise) and IQS being brutally honest and gruff (behavior wise), would make for a well balanced forum.
Both IQS and Mantra would put the effort in and I don't believe either would abuse their positions of power/trust, this and would need to work together to strike balance.
Just my opinion.

We'll see if it's speculation Aussie.Aussie wrote:More silly wild speculation Mantra. My comment to Skippy was perfectly obvious. It will not matter who I appoint, someone will disagree....a no win for me.
Perhaps the new moderator will be someone who has made a good contribution to this board, someone local and someone who we can tolerate? He/she will hopefully have a good understanding of the members here and of course be a true blue Australian. I think us Aussies are getting a little sick of immigrants - so can we look forward to a member such as I've described Aussie?

Thanks Mel - that's nice, but absolutely impossible. IQ and myself would be down at the bottom of Aussie's list. My gut feeling is that the moderator was chosen a while ago and this exercise in the members having a choice is utter bulldust.mellie wrote:.
