Bob Katter Senior (Katters father) was a Labor politician but later joined the Nationals.

So....

Theres a good chance he will cross the floor.

Depending on the results of their research will determine whethe ror not Gillard would allow any results to be released.
Exactly.

Gillard has been known to withhold reports as she hasnt liked what the outcome was so they get classified as not to be released.

I really hope he upholds the family tradition, if I were Abbott, I'd be wrapping him in cotton wool.

We need him alive and well.

Sometimes documents and dooms-day research findings need to be withheld for the better good of society, sure..., ie... it's not overly responsible or bright leaking potentially war-inducing trivial comments to a nations leader whereby a positive and or necessary rational for doing so cant be defined.

Ie...Does Gillard need to know a Cuban leader thinks her breath smells? <----example only.

When it comes to leaking information, I guess we have to be responsible and weigh up the pros's and cons...advantages, disadvantages, risks, etc.

Take Julian Assange for instance, quite allot of what he's released is in fact in the publics best interest, and needed to be leaked, but theres also quite allot of information that was both inconsequential and inflammatory and probably didn't do him any favours leaking because apart from cabinet privy, national security etc...some of it's quite boring, and irrelevant.

I have thought about this and think perhaps he was not the only individual behind his cause, some of it he himself may have not even been aware was leaked,.. or perhaps he knew it was a case of him not having enough time to analyse all of it to ensure only the necessary and socially responsible information was leaked, because with the climate-gate leak, he needed to leak it quite quickly, and timing was imperative...re Rudds Copenhagen summit.

So...was a case of gush or hush.. or risk being stopped before the bulk of it was leaked.

I don't believe Assange would have leaked documents he felt would harm civilians and or needlessly devastate positive relations between world leaders unless he felt the positives outweighed the negatives... so when people say what he leaked was irresponsible I think under the circumstances, we should probably give him the opportunity to explain why.

He's no dummy, and I don't believe he's done this for fame and glory or even money, I think he's a deeply complex and concerned man with a strong sense of moral and social justice.- Did this to get us questioning those abusing their positions of power at our expense.

Assange never leaked any documents, rather he published what was leaked to him.

So does this mean mellie's Chinese invasion force will land at Balmain? :?

Greens claim 'historic' Lower House victory

The Greens have won their first seat in the New South Wales Lower House after Jamie Parker defeated former education minister Verity Firth in the inner-western seat of Balmain.

Distribution of preferences finished late on Saturday afternoon, putting Mr Parker ahead of Liberal candidate James Falk, 19,141 to 16, 664.
