Insane. Despite my stirring, he's a regular, everyday guy, who's had enough of being told what to do, and what he should believe by "progressive" thinkers. A couple of things we did agree on, was that the holier than though whining about how mean the protesters were was fucking hilarious, and that Pauline was an attention seeking media whore :D

Bravo. No doubt, there will be more.
Yep. The fact that the govt went on the offensive in attacking Abbott and trying to demonize the protesters shows that they are worried.

I was waiting for the phrase 'rent a crowd' to be used ... then watched the soap box comments from the crowd, and wondered if those individuals were selected because they sounded like inarticulate inbreds.

They actually struck me as simple people with a decent grasp on reality

Rent a crowd doesn't fit very well this time, hopster. At least not with the guy I was working with today. He's too busy working his arse off to bother with the pollies, until now... when they've pissed him off just that little bit too much. He's had enough of a society that panders to the jackasses who whine the most. So much so that he's decided that doing his own share of whining is the only way to get heard.

Na. Car pooling is environmentally friendly :P

As I see it, rent a crowd refers to people who will turn up to protest anything, just by being asked by their "own kind" (left/right/whatevah). Definitely not this guy. Going to this protest cost him a days work.

Seems you'z missed my cynical irony .. rent a crowd being applied to a conservative [sic] demography, or right-wing if you prefer ... as opposed feral uni students ect.

I'm soaring with the dodos tonight :|
