There's no deer or kanagroo season. It's pretty much open season on deer whenever you want to blast into them. They are a feral species. You obviously haven't seen or eaten venison. It tastes like a roasted leg of veal ... not the schnitzel stuff and the meat is whitish, nothing like lamb or mutton. Nah, you were drunk again at that barbie and were eating veal. The feral venison is much better than the farmed stuff but neither are great (my yank mates tell me elk is the best deer meat) and do remind me of mutton which I have also eaten tho it is hard to get these days, it is all lamb, perhaps some hogget.
