The resolution UN Security Council passed Thursday night, March 17 approved not only a no-fly zone for Libya but also "all necessary measures to protect civilians and civilian-populated areas under threat of attack" – a mandate for military steps short of invasion. It was carried by 10 votes with five nations abstaining: Russia, China, Brazil, India and Germany. Qaddafi's response: "If the world has gone crazy, we'll be crazy too."

As Qaddafi's forces advanced on the rebel stronghold of Benghazi, the US, British, French, UAE and Qatar air forces were on standby. If attacked, Libya threatens retaliation against civilian and military targets in Europe and the Middle East, according to a statement from the Defense Ministry in Tripoli.

Y'know, yer really should check a few details before parroting some jesus freak cult site or blog.

Al-Qaeda was a rest & recuperation hospice/hostel in Pakistan for Arabs who fought in Afganistan with Mujahadin ... and later with Taliban ...(Jihadis or holy warriors if you prefer) Usama bin Laden is believed to have put a fair bit of money into it.

Funny thing about Usama is, there hasn't been a credible sighting of him since late 2001, and he already had kidney dramas back then, so for all we know coalition of the willing forces could have been chasing a boogey man all these years.

They already had that with Gadaffi (well access to the oil. Iraq—do the UN or US have control of Iraq’s oil?) this war has damaged port and oil installations and will reduce the flow of oil for a while.
