selfish assholes. if you really want to leave, you would. Japan aint exactly a small country, so theres plenty of other places to stay. Don't rely on any govt helping you out: you went there on your own free will for whatever reason. think of the poor japanese who have no choice but to stay.

According to tonight's News, there are commercial flights leaving Japan quite regularly, and there are seats available. There is an Aussie Flag in an obvious position inside the entrance to Tokyo's International Airport beneath which there are Aussie officials available to offer assistance. Yes, no-one should be complaining they are unable to leave if that is what they want to do.

This is excellent news that the Aussie embassy is finally helping expats abroad.

Associated Press

(AP:YAMAGATA, Japan) The International Atomic Energy Agency chief says he views Japan's nuclear crisis as an extremely serious accident requiring international cooperation.

IAEA chief Yukiya Amano said Friday that he plans to meet with top Japanese officials and to visit the area struck by the devastating earthquake and tsunami a week ago that knocked out power for the cooling systems at a nuclear power plant, setting off Japan's crisis.

Amano is accompanied by a four-member team of experts.

He said: "We see it as an extremely serious accident. The international community is extremely concernced about this issue, and it's important to cooperate in dealing with it."

THIS IS A BREAKING NEWS UPDATE. Check back soon for further information. AP's earlier story is below.

YAMAGATA, Japan (AP) _ Japan's military says it does not plan further helicopter air drops of water on overheating reactors at a tsunami-ravaged nuclear plant.

Defense ministry spokesman Ippo Mayama said Friday that further helicopter runs were not planned, following several runs the day before. He did not say why. It was unclear what effect the water drops had on the targeted reactor.

Jeeze, it seems Wikis cables were right about allot of things ... no wonder the "international community" aka UN would prefer it's founder tightly tucked away in a cell.

Julian Assange is a POW, a political prisoner of a silent war some of you may not be aware of.

Bright and talented people like this are not born everyday, some time ago , another was born, (about 2000 years ago) he too was nailed to the cross.

I am not a spiritual person, rather believe some people are born with extraordinary talents, many of whom endure a phenomena known as tall poppy syndrome.

What if Jesus simply told the truth, was an intellectual prophet, was not a miracle healer as some suggest?

What if Jesus didn't believe in god himself?

I guess we'll never know...

Epic lol... it is not enough that he risks his liberty. He must risk his life also? What a hard man you are who should want for the visionary to die for their beliefs before you would dare listen to them.

That was my attempt to get this Thread back on topic Sappho. I am happy to discuss Assange with you on the relevant Thread.
