He said he was going to ring his son again as soon as he could, I spoke to him at 9am. He said he was going to try and convince his son to just leave his mother there if she wont go. He even said he was calling his ex mother in law to try and get her on his ex wife's case, I hope it works.
The Japanese government have turned them all into stoic pre-disaster mushrooms, they believe their government, dont trust the west, (and those who distrust their own government, distrust the west more so) ...thus spite may not be the rational for the woman's defiance, she like so many Japanese may truly believe everything is going to be ok.
Would she agree to fly to Australia with her son and Ex, it may be the only option at this late stage.
He should fly to Japan, pick them both up, then fly them both to Australia.
I dare say they would be on iodine tablets, but if not, tell your mate to get some as I think Japan are enduring shortages....my friend emailed me earlier and advised he's running low.
