Spoze Gillard's "no carbon tax" is the same as Howard's "GST never ever".

Whatever the case and regardless of who said what, the fact remains unaltered that Rudd (Labor) was voted in on a 'dealing with GW/CC platform', and Howard (Liberal) was voted out for over 10 years of inaction and obfuscation on GW/CC.

Personally I'm glad they've gone for carbon tax propper as opposed to emissions trading scam because it'll be cheaper and more efficient.

While I deliberately spoiled my vote so as to not vote at all, the Australian public gave the incumbents a mandate to address GW/CC by voting them in on the platform they stood.

Is this not similar to Greens primary vote-base last election Mantra, give and take?

The only people supporting this idiotic tax are the Greens, and a few corporate heavyweights so they will be sacrificed in the wilderness when the time is right, the two leading party's will eventually be rid them from the senate because lets face it, everyone hates the Greens, except the Greens and their supporters this and noone wants them anywhere near their senate, only put up with them under sufferance, to form a minority government to clean up after Rudd a little before Libs take the lead.

Get over the Greens. You want to spread as much hatred as you can about them - but you can't substantiate your pronouncements.

The only fact is that no-one wanted a carbon tax announced the way Gillard did. She stuffed up and should have been up front and honest instead of thinking that 23 million people wouldn't notice that she had said two different things.

Abbott will not be elected as PM if he continues to deny climate change and takes no positive action whatsoever to reduce pollution. He will never be elected anyway so it doesn't matter what he believes or doesn't believe in.

It will be years before the Senate loses the Greens - if at all.

Wrong. Howard went to an election seeking a mandate. Dullard specifically ruled it out

That is not a "fact" and they have no mandate

Why do they need a mandate? It will pass in the Senate in July.

The ETS didn't last time, did it- because the Greens were worse economic vandals than Labor.
This time they are going to force Liebor to be economic vandals

The sooner Bob Brown dies screaming in a fire, the better. We can only hope that whiny fluffy bunny Christine Milne is visiting the prick when it happens

So did Rudd, and he got it. Then failed to live up to it.

The Australian population via the electoral commission says otherwise.

The Greens are Labors mandate, when to think, Australia's first female PM and she still cant wear the crown.

Mantra, do you think the Greens are infallible?

If so, perhaps you should take a look at this.

Of course I don't think they're infallibe, but they're the only decent political party this country has at present if you compare them to the two major parties. Obviously the Coalition feels threatened by the Greens because since the last election the most terrible hate campaign has been used against them - the worst I've seen for years.

Do you really believe this country will be better off without the Greens? We'll have no-one trying to preserve our natural resources, promote renewables, slow down deforestation or encourage us to be a humane nation.

Australia is headed down the path of being a third world quarry. Waterways are being poisoned and basins are being cracked through mining and exploration. Hunting, grazing and development is enveloping our national parks and now we've got the first global nuclear waste tip. The raping and pillaging just continues. There will be nothing left for your grandchildren.

Do you ever watch the destruction going on around you and think that the Coalition might not be our saviour unless they had the Greens niggling and reminding them constantly that we need to clean up Australia for our children and their children. Our emissions have almost doubled in the last few years and if you think that the traffic congestion and pollution in areas such as Sydney is OK - it's because you've never been forced into it regularly. There are also serious health problems associated with pollution.

You prefer anarchy, drugs, stealing, welfare dependancy, mass illegal immigration...but you can hug a tree

That is all that the Greens offer
