My tolerance is so high I am the safest drunk driver on the road I can assure you.

Hell, I could probably win a Formula One Race.

In a fucking Hyundai Getz too!

Froggen,

I thought driving drunk was cool in my late teens early twenties. In fact we used to measure distances in stubbies. How far is it from Sydney to my home town (400 miles away). that was a full slab for two in the car. driver drinking at the same rate as passenger. Realised how silly it was when I was doing 80 and forgot where i was on the road that I knew well and come up to a hairpin turn with the sigh shot out. What a bloody silly thing. I was lucky to get out alive.

I do have to say i thought i was a good driver consider how wasted i was some times. I grew up that day and have never done it since. i was luck to get a second chance and did not kill anyone.

i do understand the illusion of thinking you are a good drive. The piss does that for you.

Well i have to say that I am sober Aussie. I guess that makes it worse. I try to post here while at work and just type it out in my few spare moments. My typing, grammar and spelling is shit. Sorry about that.

Tyhank you for bringing it to my attention. I hope one day to meet your standard of posting.

Anyone had someone try to tell them, seriously, that a few drinks made them a better driver?

I have. They seriously tried to convince me. The logic was they were more relaxed and could handle the traffic better with a few in them. They said their driving was worse when fully sober because ofthe stress of driving. I laughed and said what utter bullshit. told them they should not be on the road if they can not face the traffic sober.

i have heard other times but they were not serious. Generally seeking a reaction or just taking normal pub shite.

Sounds similar to the bullshit that I copped. Apparrently, the grog (and dope) makes them more relaxed/in tune with reality.

Please... drugs can help to "tune in" with reality... but it creates havoc with your gross motor skills, and hence your ability to physically interact with the world (ie. DRIVE)

In my bullet proof late teens a few of us droped acid trips and then wondered "What are we going to do now?"
I suggested "Lets go to Luna Park" (when Sydney still had one). So we piled into my Valiant Charger, and I ran 7 red lights in a row because I thought it was funny.
Sometimes my brother, a few mates and myself used to padock bash old cars around my grandparents farm on acid.

Probably not quite as dangerous (for the public), a bunch of us used to eat gold top mushies and then water ski on the Hawkesbury river. We had 2 ski boats with bigarse inboard motors, and on one occasion both mushied out drivers imagined they'd run aground. If you fell off your ski the boats kept going because the observers didn't notice.
I'd just swim over to the bank and wait for them to return, because when floating in brown brackish water while tripping, its hard not to get paranoid about sharks.
