What we have in Australia and UK is a lot better than the US' style of safety net.

US style. You have no money. Oh well, consume/use up all your assets andthen we will give you some food stamps for 6 month/year and if you still can not get a jobs you and your family can just die.

The safest places in the world to bring up a family are those western style countries that have a welfare system that prevents absolute poverty. It leaves it open to abuse by a smae minority, they should be taken out and stoned once identified. Shamed in public and given tatoos so they are marked as "Bludgers".

Yes. Drop the handouts for home buyers, breeders, water tanks. Especially now that the government is short on cash. They should postpone the nbn too rather than raising taxes.
