Just had a spider run across mine... well, half way across, stopping, fair in the middle, laffin Only a baby though.

Only seems to work, if you never open a door after dark... and even then, not on spidies, and not even on 100% of the most annoying little buggers

Might be different in areas with a higher light pollution level too, I guess.

Then there is the theory that when humans moved into areas with large prehistoric mammals the dogs that came with them carried something that was transmitted to these large mammals that disrupted their life cycles some how and helped to bring about their demise ... of course, hunting would have been a big part of that but these large prehistoric mammals had long gestation periods and a small number of young, sometimes only one per cycle, so it wouldn't have taken much ... I wonder if most humans have gained an immunity to what it is that pets may carry and the ones that don't have this immunity are struck down with the above conditions?

There is also a belief that a certain state of mind can bring on multiple sclerosis. Dogs are supposed to be a health benefit for humans. A link between cats and schizophrenia sounds feasible.

If I wasn't quite so compassionate - I'd be doing the same. I finally managed to entice an abandoned cat inside so the RSPCA could pick it up and it bit me on the foot - so I chased it outside again and will have to think of another humane way of trapping it.

.22 and .45 are the easiest to silence, especially .22 because low velocity rounds (required for propper silencing) are comerially available.

Cut wooden spacer with 1 inch hole saw, drill and shape centre to fit barrel and cut into halves. Fit to barrel with electrical or duct tape.
Araldite washer with 6mm hole onto front of 1 inch aluminium tube. Cut opposing slots in rear end of tube with hacksaw blade. (Optional) fit rubber gromets from 4.1 Falcon head kit into 1 inch tube for baffles. Push rear end of tube with slots over taped wooden spacer on barrel. Line up silencer with barrel cleaning rod and attach with hose clamp. And that concludes our urban terrorists' workshop on home made silencers.
