Stuxnet virus attack: Russia warns of ‘Iranian Chernobyl'

Russian nuclear officials have warned of another Chernobyl-style nuclear disaster at Iran's controversial Bushehr reactor because of the damage caused by the Stuxnet virus, according to the latest Western intelligence reports.

Report: US, Israel tested Stuxnet

Further light shone on development of the cyber attack.

Israel and the United States jointly tested the Stuxnet computer worm that is believed to have destroyed a fifth of Iran's nuclear enrichment centrifuges, according to an explosive analysis in the New York Times.

The tests were reportedly conducted at Israel's highly guarded Dimona facility, where experts claimed Israel was testing centrifuges almost identical to Iran's enrichment facility in Natanz, sources told the New York Times.

How would we survive without computers today? They are now so essential, yet so fragile that massive facilities can be left vulnerable with the touch of a keyboard.

A cyber war could potentially shut down whole nations. It would be no surprise if the Russians and the Iranians eventually return fire to the US and allies especially if they can't get this reactor off the ground, or if they do manage - a disaster occurs. The Chinese would be the first to help.
