mantra wrote:The pro rata system was discussed by the Coalition and Labor. I don't recall the Greens talking about introducing this at all. Our politicians might be extravagant greenhouse gas belching leeches - but the average person tries not to be.

The cost of electricity is sky rocketing and if many of us are prepared to reduce our consumption to a certain level - why should those who choose to go above average use not have to pay for it. What could be fairer than having a certain amount of kwh allocated per person, but those who go above this allocation having to pay a higher rate. Exceptions would be made of course for the elderly and frail.
The Greens support carbon rationing which is a horrendous idea. Yes I agree politicians are gas belching leeches, especially Greens politicians. So much for practising what they preach. The cost of electricity is skyrocketing because of mad green policies that insist on no new coal-powered power plants be built to cater for an increasing population as well as catering for the incoming ETS which the Greens demand be in place. Mantra, read carefully - people who use more electricity do pay more for it and people who use less electricity pay less. In Adelaide a family of four could easily rack up a $600 electricity bill per quarter. My husband and I get a $220 bill per quarter because we use less. Understand?

Cost of electricity is skyrocketing because of the lack of a price for carbon. You can blame the idiotic Greens for that!

Fucking Bob Brown, the fluffy bunny sent me an email (me and thousands of others, of course) asking me to contribute to the Premier’s flood relief appeal. I emailed back calling them cynical, opportunistic and unethical bastards just trying to get a ride on the back of the floods! What arseholes!

I thought it was skyrocketing for 2 reasons - one because of privatisation and the second because in previous years State governments have never bothered to maintain the infrastructure and it's falling apart requiring constant expensive maintenance.

Don't you dare talk about Bobby like that.

His email was obviously sent as a kind gesture on behalf of the victims. He is not unethical - although maybe opportunistic. The Party will obviously go downhill when he retires because he's about the only honest politician we have in this country.

No, it was cynical grandstanding Mantra. Unforgiveable! Bob Brown does not have an ethical bone in his body!

And the bloody Greens are responsible for rising electricity prices! You follow a party of no morals, no brains breathtaking cynicism, opportunistic and only one aim: get more members into Parliament!

This is what I sent that arsehole, Bob Brown:
You opportunistic arsehole! This cynical email of yours does nothing bar promote the Greens: everyone knows of the Premier’s Appeal! FFS!

Would you like him more if he was straight? I think there's still a lot of homophobia lingering amongst many males.

He's an honest politician Monk, although probably too idealistic. He wants a healthier and more sustainable country and that's not a bad thing.

This flooding has brought all the waste from the mines with it. Much of Queensland's water supplies will be poisoned with high levels of toxins. It will probably take years before they're rid of it. Mining might be very profitable - but do we really need so much of it here?

How wrong you are Monk. Why does the money need to go straight to the Premier's Appeal?

Think I'll just keep buying solar PV panels for now. Works out cheaper and I'm fine when the grid's on the blink.

Hilarious stuff, mantra. You should do stand-up. Honest politician? This is the same bloke who publicly denounced backroom preference deals while signing up to a preference deal with federal Labor and seeking preferences from Victorian state Liberals. This is also the same bloke who condemned major political donations and said they should be outlawed while accepting the largest political donation in Australia's history. Honest? As honest as a shark with a human limb hanging out of its mouth.

The party will go downhill because the voters are waking up to the Greens' agenda. Thank you Victoria.

Honest? Breathtakingly cynical will do anything for votes Bob? Like Peter Pan he may be many things but honest he is not.
