Depends how you get y' shots. There's alot of rubbish in the water .. and at the flood peak level.
The slimey mud left behind smells a bit .. one bloke around the corner cleaning up reckons the mud is oily ... there's a fair bit of dead mullet lying around too.
I got a sliver/shard of glass in my foot, 'coz I wade out into the water to get closer shots, to compensate for the pitiful camera in my phone. Priced amphibious cameras days ago but I'm being particular, I know I can get a certain camera for a certain price sooner or later.

Okay, but those photos from under the Bridge, with the river running as hard as that, would have been......risky??

There's a pathway just under the southern end of main bridge, which got about 3 inches over part of it at the very max of the flood. Sight see-ers often chose this spot because the circular cavities in the pylon bracings made very noticable/visible guages and spectators could get out of the rain.

Yes, that's the one 8-)

An excellent capture, if done on a phone camera. If you've still got a larger version, I'd love to see it (via email perhaps?).

That's the size of photos taken with my [T100] phone.
When I blow them up on the puter, they lose focus/clarity.

For me, the most iconic shot is this ...

Ah, too bad. But it's still a classic, IMO. Like I said... biblical :D

So this could easilly happen again within weeks or months pretty much anywhere and/or everywhere in Qld.
Seems I'm da prophet of doom .... again.

Hasn't rained much, but the flood's returning. Not yet the level it peaked at a week or so ago, but its rising.
Did a bit of checking to find out where the water's entering the Burnett River, it hasn't rained enough out near my block which is only 10 or 20 km from the source of the river in the state forest, so it must be bucketing down somewhere around Gayndah.

Barambah creek hit record levels - flows into the Burnett just downstream of Gayndah. That and the Mary are in flood, which indicates the general area that copped the last batch of rain.
