Brits have the best sense of humor
Or at least their comedies/sitcoms are the funniest.
Just watched "My Family" on ABC1

Re: Brits have the best sense of humor
Brits seem to have a healthy view on their own faults
It takes a real actor do comedy well, regardless of their nationality.

Re: Brits have the best sense of humor
I couldn't watch Yes PM, Young Ones or Steptoe. My favourites are Little Britain, Absolutely Fabulous, Keeping up Appearances, Monty Python and even those old Carry On movies were hilarious. The English have got amazing character actors - they don't care how they look or what they do.
Australian comedies are pretty good as well. Kath & Kim, the old Comedy Inc, Fast Forward, Summer Heights High etc. are almost equal to the English and far better than the American sitcoms.

Most things are. I wonder what it is? Seinfeld was good, so was Cheers, so was Frasier, but who can watch 2 and a half men???far better than the American sitcoms.
One good thing we inherited through the Empire.

Re: Brits have the best sense of humor
I think it's more correct to say that their sense of humour is closest to ours. Not surprising considering our heritage and social ties.
You vote, you lose!

Agree with most posted above except Little Britain, yuck.
"Keeping up Appearances" and wasn't Hyacinth a role model for Mrs Rodent?
Better than Seinfeld was "Soap"
Buster Keaton & the Marx Bros and that is about it for American humor

Yes it is a bit stomach churning at times. I don't like the tall bloke, especially in the breastfeeding skit, nothing worse than seeing a 40 year old man still relying on his mother for nourishment. The little fat gay bloke is very funny and clever and compensates for the truly revolting scenes that his partner obviously relishes.Agree with most posted above except Little Britain, yuck.
But it's a brave show - and portrays human nature at its' weakest.
