You have got to love the Germans.
I like this guys logic. Certainly had the balls to deal with the threat to his daughter.
I think he should have taken him to hospital then he would not be up on an attempted murder charge.
I would like to think I owuld do the same.
German man castrates teenage daughter's 57-year-old boyfriend
An enraged father who disapproved of his daughter's older boyfriend went to his home and castrated him with a bread knife.
By Allan Hall, Berlin 10:11PM GMT 12 Dec 2010
Helmut Seifert, 47, an ethnic German originally from Russia, was enraged when he heard his 17-year-old daughter was having a relationship with Phillip Genscher, 57.
He went to police in the town of Bielefeld where he lives but officers said they were powerless to intervene.
"The man then recruited two work colleagues at his factory and then went to the house of the victim," said police.
"The man was forced to remove his trousers and, fully conscious, he was castrated. The severed testicles were taken away by the perpetrator."
The man was close to bleeding to death but managed to call police. His life was saved but he remains a eunuch for life.
Seifert pleaded guilty and will be on trial for attempted murder next year. But he has remained silent on who his accomplices were.
He told police: "I received a phone call anonymously that my daughter was involved with a guy 40 years older than her. You said you couldn't stop him - so I did.
"I saw it as my duty as a father."

I think attempted murder is a bit harsh. My limited knowledge of biology notwithstanding, I would not expect a dude to die simply from having his bollocks lopped. Grievous bodily harm, ok.
Also, I believe the father acted out of jealousy. Yes, that's right, jealousy. He secretly wanted to be *the one*, and he would have felt similarly aggrieved regardless of the age of whomever deflowered his princess. The fact that the deflowerer's age was so similar to his own crystallised his jealous rage and prompted his stabby behaviour.
And..........a bread knife? WTF? Surely a steak knife would be the correct implement.

Bleeding to death is a fairly common response.

That's pretty sick. Not every father in Germany has a basement.
Yes, bleeding to death would be a high probability.

Agreed. Was he accidently stabbed in the groin? Otherwise, his life was never in danger.

I think there is a good chance to bleed to death unless you take some action to stop it.
I would have throught a bread knife would have done a sloppy job in the cutting making it worse.

I'm no doctor, but steers are often "cut" without anything to stop the bleeding afterwards. But then, the scrotum isn't removed in that case, just a hole cut in the end, testicle poked through, and cut off.
Still, and extreme responce.

I've heard of historical events where removal of the scrotum caused the victim to bleed to death.
.. eg horse mounted troopers hunting aboriginals are documented to have castrated males, then watch them run around screaming in agony till they bleed to death.

Was Loreta Bobbit charged with attempted murder?

No, it's a reasonable theory based on this fruit loop's psychopathic actions.
Now, this......
