I bet Nelson is feeling a little bit vindicated. He was crying when he lost to Turnbull.

Nelson & Costello probably both chuckled over their muesli reading today's Australian :)

May Abbott need sto take over as leader for say 12 months, to bulldoze through changes to the Party that are needed and start a thorough policy review.

But I bet most Libs are lazy and think the global financial crisis will give them victory in 2010. They will be wrong.

From your mouth to God's ear. :) I was actually trembling with rage watching The Howard Years last night. Reminded me of why I worked so hard to get him out.

Do you really think Abbott could turn them around?

I can relate to that hebe. The first of the series made me angry and it only got worse as the series progressed. The Howard Years was a stark reminder of what a mean spirited, vainglorious nazi Howard was. Being PM was all about him - his feelings, his authority, his power etc.

The ABC needs to show the documentary again just prior to the next election "lest we forget".

And Abbott is a backstabbing liar. His true colours came through last night on the series. Give him a few drinks and he'll tell his friends anything and when he sobers up the next day - all his promises are forgotten. He definitely isn't PM material - he's too superficial and weak.

Keep believing that and there will be no Liberal party after 2010.

Looks like the Coalition is about to split up.

The right whingers have been waiting for Turnbull to stuff up, he hasn't dissapointed them, I think even the extreme rightards thought he would last 12 to 18 months but alas his numbers are in the Nelson range after only 3 months.
My tips are Hockey or people skills Abbott, Abbott will get the extremist vote and Hockey the mods, the question is who is running the party now the mods or the extremist rightards? Hockey is their best bet, but my money is on people skills.

Hockey should quit Federal and go into state politics, be the next NSW Premier.

In the Federal sphere I think he is saddled with being "Mr WorkChoices"

Abbot for Leader
