Oh look, a liebor govt stacking
http://www.theaustralian.com.au/nationa ... 5961178370
THE committee being created to scrutinise the taxpayer-funded National Broadband Network will be stacked with Labor MPs and not operate until July.
This has sparked fresh criticism about inadequate scrutiny of the country's biggest infrastructure project.
The committee - promised by Julia Gillard to secure the support of independent senator Nick Xenophon for crucial legislation to end Telstra's market dominance and pave the way for the NBN - will have 16 members, of whom nine will be Labor-nominated. It will be chaired by independent Rob Oakeshott.
How fucked is that? Let's stack the committees the same way we stack the branches and hope we get away with it. Slimy fucking cocksuckers

Yes!
The structural separation of Telstra Bill has passed the Senate!
We will be one of the world leaders in broadband speed, penetration and cost, instead of fucking fortieth!
And eventually I will be freed from dependence on fucking useless, slow and expensive wireless broadband!
This is a great day for Australia!

RBA Governor Glenn Stevens backs calls for NBN cost-benefit analysis
AUSTRALIA'S top banker has embarrassed the Gillard government by backing a cost-benefit analysis of the National Broadband Network.
Reserve Bank Governor Glenn Stevens made the comment on the same day Labor pushed a bill crucial to the NBN through the Senate.
Mr Stevens undermined the government's hard-fought victory by adding his voice to Coalition calls for a cost-benefit analysis of the NBN, which Labor has repeatedly refused to commission.
When asked about the NBN, Mr Stevens told a parliamentary committee the public sector could use its larger balance sheet to fund a major project if the private sector was unable to take on the risks involved.
But there ought to be “a proper cost-benefit analysis of that case in those instances,” he said.
Then Cuntroy comes out and proves that he doesn't listen or pay attention
Broadband Minister Stephen Conroy said there was no disagreement between Mr Stevens and the government on the issue.
“We agree with him that there should be scrutiny,” he said.
Uhh Cuntroy, Glenn said a "proper cost-benefit analysis" not your slimey self produced wankfest

Boy, there's no love lost between the former fib leader and the current one.
Federal shadow communications minister, Malcolm Turnbull, has been forced to defend potential conflicts of interest between private investments and his argument over the National Broadband Network (NBN).
The criticisms, from infrastructure minister, Anthony Albanese, centre around Turnbull’s private stake in Web hosting company Melbourne IT where his wife, Lucy Turnbull, is also a director. Albanese alleged that while Turnbull publicly criticised the fibre-to-the-home network, his private investments in the company would in fact benefit from the NBN going ahead.
Tony: "Malcom - you are given the duty of destroying the very thing your own wife's company will benefit from and thinks is great. I hope this won't affect our friendship".
Malcom: "No worries Tone, you're the boss, I'll do whatever you say and will always respect you and love you like a brother..
just don't ever turn your back you low-down piece of filth"

Eating salmon caviar and drinking froggy champers to celebrate. Any sensible person would celebrate today, a huge improvement to our communication system. Phone, broadband and IPTV are all about to get much faster, better and cheaper. It is very, very sad sacks that keep insisting wireless would be better: one FO strand has more bandwidth than all the radio/TV spectrum!

Conjob in denial tries to claim the RBA didn't say what they said. This guy is a fucking fruitloop
At a press conference, Senator Conroy denied Mr Stevens had supported the push for a cost-benefit analysis of the NBN.
"That's not actually what he said," Senator Conroy said.
"The third word is not there, I've got his direct words here, he said 'cost benefit'."
However, transcripts of Mr Stevens's comments show he did use the words "cost benefit analysis" when questioned on the NBN.
A Treasury spokesman later admitted providing Senator Conroy with a transcript in which the word "benefit" was missing.
So now Conjob has been proven wrong he will have no problem with a real CBA? Not likely. He won't want more of his lies exposed

After five days of parliamentary debate, draft laws that separate Telstra's retail and wholesale arms have finally passed the Senate.
It is now to go ahead. It is a good technology decision. I reallly hope it brings the benfits promised.
I look forward to the debate in the motnhs to come when it is revealed that the money has been poorly managed and we have a cost blowout.
Always remember what you post, send or do on the internet is not private and you are responsible.

You will find the OO will report it that way.
The NBN is not a stimulus program, so no mad rush and that the people running NBN Co know what they are doing.

What JM said. Every glitch and learning curve will be reported by the MSM as "an utter failure" and "a complete waste of taxpayers money" (note: this is a completely spurious concept in our modern fiat monetary system, but I digress).
The NBN will prove itself to be an outstanding piece of policy - I have no doubt about that. I also have no doubt that every single hiccup along the way - that anyone with half a brain should expect will occur with an enormous new piece of tech-infrastructure - will be siezed upon by the media, the coalition (albeit reluctantly by the agrarian socialist faction who want what the NBN can offer the bush
) and general dropkicks like IQ, who will masturbate over every little problem as "the end of the NBN".
