Phantom Ray
No its not ghosts with laser guns, its a drone that looks like a stealth bomber/fighter.
Before you ask how I reconcile psuedo-environmentalism with big bad destructive weaponry, spoze I should make it known I've always had an interest in technology advancements (despite its purpose) and have never agreed with anti-gun policies of the Greens or ALP anti-gun steering committees. I just like things that go "bang"

Re: Phantom Ray
Wasn't it John Howard who removed all the guns enabling a huge black market to prosper? I don't think any reasonable person or political party would object to responsible gun ownership if it could be regulated.and have never agreed with anti-gun policies of the Greens or ALP anti-gun steering committees.

It certainly was hayseed, Mantra, riding on the back of the Bryant massacre in Tasmania.mantra wrote:Wasn't it John Howard who removed all the guns enabling a huge black market to prosper? Re: Phantom Ray
Indeed it was Howard who implemented the gun bans, although the ALP and Greens wouldn't have needed some backward teenager with no firearms training whatsoever to be set up as some boogeyman nutter with a 98% accuracy skill to implement such totalitarian steps. They'd just wave their arms about like the lost in space robot babbling "Danger Danger Will Robinson".
What gets me about most pro gunners is they voted Lib because the Libs said they wouldn't go down the *Shogun path.
Then did precisely that in disarming the population, and the suckers still vote Lib. So in that regard they got their just deserts.
Thing is about anti-gunners, is none of their arguments stand up to statistics, or even common sense for that matter.
And history has shown that rulers who disarm their populations are or become despotic .
*Shogun path - Japanese elitist who outlawed weaponry for everyone except themselves so their fuedal dictatoship couldn't be challenged. They remained in power for about 400 years.
Fact is, in modern history anyway, every state or nation where firearms are prohibited to supposedly reduce crime, has in every case has an immediate surge and continual increase in violent crime.
I've long suspected the disarming of Ozzies was so frightened sheeple would allow US nuke missile bases on Ozzy soil.
The troop bases for 5000 personel are comming, and sooner or later the missile bases will follow.

Re: Phantom Ray
I thought the US was on the way out, Heritic? You really should keep your conspiracy theories all running in the one direction
"But you will run your fluffy bunny mouth at me. And I will take it, to play poker."
Re: Phantom Ray
They are on the way out.
On the way out of Japan and on the way out of the Philipines.
If it wasn't for Kim Jong Ill's sabre rattling they'd be on the way out of South Korea too.
The US needs somewhere else in the Pacific to put a minimum of 5000 troops, so the new bases are to be in Australia while most of the planes and ships will go to Guam.
You really should keep up with geo-politics unless you're content to be an ignorant git.

So, they're not going to collapse, under the weight of debt, for a while yet?
North Korea are looking dumb enough to use nukes sometime soon, too, eh. These remote control toys are only good at zapping the stone age warriors, who have learned to point a rocket launcher in the wrong direction.

Re: Phantom Ray
Y'know I thought you were smarter than that.
You seem to be under the misapprehension that a nation in economic crisis can't or won't seek to counter it with a military build up.
Several decades ago Germany was in economic ruin and it didn't stop their military build up and Panzer devisions tour across Europe.
Tell ya what boxter, do a bit of research on history, modern or ancient, or both, and you may just see the repeated correlation of Nations in debt going to war to boost their economy via manufacturing industries.
As for N Korea .. well .. quite recently an as yet unidentified nation snuck a submarine in under the US early warning system and fired a missile off the coast of California. It was all over their news at the time, and most speculation is pointed at China, but some have suggested N Korea.
If the top brass and intel orgs know who they're not letting on what they know. So plenty of former US military personel commenting in the blogosphere are saying "Its not one of ours (US). Ours leave a white vapour trail while the photos (still veiwable on the net) show this missile left a dirty brown vapour trail."
Keep up man, or you may soon be wondering why you can't tell shit from clay while using it as tooth paste.

Russia's Rokot Carrier Rockets To Launch Two ESA Satellites

China Scouts Moon Landing SitesThe Rokot launch vehicle is a modified version of the Russian RS-18 (SS-19 Stiletto) intercontinental ballistic missile. It uses the two original lower stages of the ICBM, in conjunction with a Breeze-KM upper-stage for commercial payloads.
http://www.moondaily.com/reports/China_ ... s_999.html
China expects to stage its first robot landing on the Moon in 2012 or 2013.
First Potentially Habitable Exoplanet FoundChina has recently revealed that Chang'e 3 is targeted for the Bay of Rainbows, a lava plain on the Moon. It's easy to see why. This area is remarkably flat and featureless in low-resolution images. It's also large, allowing plenty of room for rough navigation in the descent. A close look should confirm its suitability.
http://www.spacedaily.com/reports/First ... d_999.html
The research, sponsored by NASA and the National Science Foundation, placed the planet in an area where liquid water could exist on the planet's surface. If confirmed, this would be the most Earth-like exoplanet yet discovered and the first strong case for a potentially habitable one.

Much better, Hopster. Although, I don't know that the nature of the US lends itself to world war. Our corporate overlords will only use war that is limited, and with somewhat predictable downsides.
Wasn't that "missile trail" just shown to be a regular passenger jet contrail from one of the nearby islands?
