Too many politicians.Black Orchid wrote: ↑Sun Aug 16, 2026 5:41 pmI was reading today that the Coalition has women in 34% of the seats it holds. Labor has women in 53% of it's seats.
That's too many women.

Re: One Nation surge
Student protesters have hurled insults at Pauline Hanson, calling her a “racist b*tch” and saying she should “go to hell” in a barrage of deafening chants at protests being held across the country.
Hundreds of high schoolers and university students swamped Town Hall in Sydney’s CBD to protest against Senator Hanson’s One Nation Party in a rally organised by the National Union of Students, as thousands were expected to gather around the country.
Multiple people, some of whom were clearly high school students, led chants from the southern steps of Town Hall, which included shouts of “migrants are welcome, racists are not” and “Pauline Hanson go to hell, take your racists there as well”.

Parents are employing lawyers in an attempt to stop One Nation from using the footage. Too bad so sad. I can't see how a court can stop ON from using the footage. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
The brats should have been at school. They have no idea what they are protesting.

Re: One Nation surge
If parents and teachers are going to encourage school students to leave class and participate in a highly political public protest on the steps of Parliament, they cannot suddenly act shocked when footage of that PUBLIC protest is seen and shared.
According to the report, lawyers are now trying to force One Nation to remove footage of students who were filmed openly participating in the protest. Sorry, but accountability does not magically disappear because the consequences become uncomfortable.
Parents had a responsibility here too. Before allowing children to become part of an aggressive political demonstration, perhaps somebody should have made sure they actually understood the issue, understood who and what they were protesting against, and understood that attending a public protest means you may be photographed or filmed.
And from the footage we've seen, some of these students appeared far better prepared to yell abuse than explain the political argument they had supposedly walked out of school to support.
You cannot encourage children into political activism, applaud them while they are doing it, and then reach for the lawyers when the public sees exactly what happened.
ACCOUNTABILITY WORKS BOTH WAYS.

Senator Hanson said schools should teach young people “how to think, not what to think,” [/quote]
Lefties hate that idea.

Its a hard call. Every school has a culture or identity to some point. Be it apathy, pride, making money or religion.
I think it bad when they are exploited by external entities like Media narratives or politics.
