International students flood asylum system

Post by Black Orchid » Sun Sep 07, 2025 10:27 am

International students are overwhelming Australia’s asylum system with bogus refugee applications, as the country’s deportation backlog surges towards 100,000.

As of July 31, there were 98,979 people whose protection visa application had been denied but were yet to be deported while 27,100 were awaiting a decision, according to the Department of Home Affairs.

“Undoubtedly the case is that there’s an increasing number of student visa holders applying for asylum,” said Dr Abul Rizvi, former deputy secretary of the Immigration Department, who has warned the government must urgently take steps to clear the deportation backlog that has steadily grown since 2015.

Most of those granted asylum were from countries including war-torn Myanmar, Malaysia — where LGBT people face persecution — and Iran.

They know how to play our system -
we're suckers for their fake stories.

Send them home on the next flight out - it's not our problem.

She's worse than useless! I can't stand the sight of her. And what is this treaty she plans to have with the abos? I thought Australians voted against any treaties so she's arrogant as well. She'll do what she wants regardless of the wishes of the people.

We are really suffering from the massive numbers of immigrants Labor is bringing into the country. Our cities - Sydney and Melbourne are full up! We have massive traffic problems. It takes hours to get anywhere on our clogged roads. And there's a shocking housing crisis causing massive suffering for people trying to get a roof over their head.

What is wrong with these useless idiots who are the cause of all our problems .... and who the hell votes for them????

It varies between the states, and it's currently being withheld from general public.
So far, she's got SA, Vic, and idiotic WA on board, treaty wise.

She's scum of the earth and knows those she strikes a deal with will screw-over their own indigenous communities and that the smattering of money will benefit the elders themselves, rather than their oblivious remote and terribly disadvantaged communities, who live in 3rd world conditions.

I only know because my eldest daughter and ex- husband * not the grub* recieved this information via their local indigenous community co-op magazine which gets delivered to them regularly.

Apparently, our governments found a workaround for getting most of the essential components of The Voice passed by said elders of various missions communities.

I knew they would, Albo more or less vowed to follow-through with the essential elements regardless of what voters thought.

Typical commie, our votes never mattered to begin with, was merely an illusion, a formality to allude to a false notion of our being a democracy still.

Definitely not a democracy under an ALP small *c* socialist party.
