I'll have to agree with you Mellie.
Definitely not trained (physically impossible for Chimps to walk like that 'always' without detrimental compromise of their physical aspect designed not to for long periods.
Also, the behaviour of its 'consciousness' was pretty apparent and something more natural than what could be taught in such a short time when it was discovered. Oliver understood.
Take Coco the female Chimp who was 'taught' effective communication to a good degree. She could never physically walk like Oliver, nor did she understands human behaviour like us to be like similar. She could communicate well and express her meagre thought patterns, but her consciousness of being similar to us, was never like what over expressed.
I'll stick to my him being a last connection of our very ancient Homo relatives that managed to still exist unchallenged by the last 10,000 but really last 5,000 years of Sapien expansions. The fact that Abos could exist in isolation untainted from external influences for 50,000 years (or even those North Sentinelese) shows that Homo Oliver and his kind could still exist in their ever dwindling number until the full end of today.
I really couldn't see anything 'chimp' about him. Definitely in the eyes.

When the enemy creeps in. Rather, when people allow the enemy to creep in and taint their world.
Every action resulting in a consequence....good or bad.

Re: Man or Ape?
God made many animals that share similar features, isn't to say they're all related.
If we evolved from apes, then why didn't apes evolve into humans also?
Genetic variation.... environment.... it's all theory, man is still trying to understand how he came to be, and yet, 2000 years have passed and we're still wondering
???
Some questions are answered only when we pass on.
This is what I believe, I have witnessed miracles that would make even the most sceptical hairs stand on end.

We didn't evolve from apes - we have a common ancestor.
