That looks lovely, perfect for a dance night.

Yesterday - eye fillet steak at Coles $75.76 per kilo.
One serve of steak is $25.

I got a cheaper cut
Coles No Added Hormone Peppered Beef Steaks | 300g
$8.50
$28.33 per 1kg

Go to your local Coles about an hour before it's due to close.
It's when staff mark meat down.
Be patient, just stroll through the meat section, perusing the shelves inconspicuously.

Remember, if there's no hot chooks available before 6pm, Coles have to give you the value of the chook that wasn't available in the form of a voucher.

If something is incorrectly marked, price wise, you get the item for free.

U can bag a bargain and eat like a king if you're prepared to brave the cold.

Especially in winter

My cat refuses to eat cat food, only eats roast chicken, so this works well for us. 8-)

About 10 minutes to 6pm.......

They only mark down stuff that is one day from its use by date - no thanks.

In Ballarat they mark meat down even days before use by date.

There's nothing wrong with it. You know when it's looking grey, so don't get the crap, just the good stuff.

I have a very jealous spoilt cat, you should have seen him tonight, howling at family writhing for my attention whenever one of them were hugging or talking to me, especially my ex- husband lol, shame on me for having family over for Mothers day dinner.

He's curled up on my stomach now as I write this, apparently it was his bed time, and I was taking too long to go to bed.

Tonight I made a lazy pasta bake, and served with a simple side of greens from our garden.

A very chill and simple meal, but I just melted when my grandaughter said that it was the best meal she's ever had in her whole life.

:D .....

My eldest daughter made mothers day cup cakes and brought them over for dessert 🍨.

I'll have mine for morning tea, too full.

Aldi herb and garlic sausages with noodles and sauerkraut.

Note: I defrost sausages in warm (60C) water first to flash salt, preservatives and fat out, then brown them on grill.
