India Seems to Be Building Its Case for Striking Pakistan
As world powers face multiple crises, the one set off by a terror attack in Kashmir is getting scant attention or help in de-escalating between nuclear-armed neighbors.

April 30 (Reuters) - Pakistan's information minister Attaullah Tarar said on Wednesday that the country has credible intelligence that India intends to launch a military strike within the next 24 to 36 hours.
Pakistan's Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif told Reuters that a military incursion by India was imminent.
Pakistan was on high alert but would only use its nuclear weapons if "there is a direct threat to our existence," Asif said in an interview at his office in Islamabad.

I had a Pakistani male housekeeper roughly 25 who told me that when he was only 17, he had to do mandatory service ( as all young men do in Pakistan) and the conditions were absolutely shocking. He said they were Tamils, and that young men, one of his close friends even died because regardless of how sick they are, they still have to go out and train. He died of gastroenteritis, something easily managed with clean water, rest, and sanitary dorms. The conditions he described were horrendous, and it's compulsory for all Pakistani boys, even the bright ones like him who had already been accepted into engineering courses abroad.tllwd wrote: ↑Fri Apr 25, 2025 5:56 pmRelations between nuclear-armed neighbours India and Pakistan have plummeted to fresh lows after the killing of 26 people in a tourist hotspot.
India blamed Pakistan for supporting the militants behind the attack but provided no public evidence for the claim, prompting a diplomatic stoush.
But India's move to temporarily suspend a decades-old water deal sparked the biggest reaction from Islamabad, saying any such move would constitute an "act of war".
He only came for 4 weeks to do my housekeeping as my regular cleaner was on leave, some of the brutality and conditions he described was enough to cause PTSD , and this was just the training, they weren't even at war.
Could you imagine our army reserves being treated like that?
This worker said that he had lost so much weight, due to inadequate nutrition that he was very ill by the end of his time training with the Tamils.
Now, he's living in Ballarat somewhere completing his degree, he wants to be a mines engineer.
It was heartbreaking to learn of his time training with the Tamils, he's a good kid of sound character, and very bright, and this is how Pakistani youth are treated?
On the plus side, he said that the horrible fold-up cots that were much too short and narrow for men to sleep on ended up being about the right size for him towards the end of his time there, as he'd lost so much weight.
He described his time there as soul destroying and believed that everyone who attends feels so broken and ill towards the end.
His mother cried when she first saw him upon him returning home.
Almost didn't recognise him.
If this is how they treat their youth when not in active war, I can't even imagine how they'd treat their prisoners of war, the enemy.

This war in the middle east was always going to spill over into neighbouring countries and eventually Europe, and with this in mind, it's a good thing we live in Australia.
This is only the beginning.
