Zelensky Says Ukraine Is Ready to Sign Minerals Deal but Needs ‘Security Guarantees’
He added: “We are ready to sign the minerals agreement, and it will be the first step toward security guarantees. But it’s not enough, and we need more than just that. A cease-fire without security guarantees is dangerous for Ukraine.”
deja vu?

Zelensky surrenders to Trump and 'will sign mineral deal within hours'
22 February 2025
Donald Trump appears to have won his trade standoff with Volodymyr Zelensky, as the Ukrainian president is set to give in and sign a deal giving the U.S. access to deposits of critical minerals.
Did he promise the apology and get himself a suit suitable for a diplomatic occasion?

I don't like Putin but I object to the propaganda we are fed every day about Ukraine.
We are told lies every day on TV and radio that Putin's invasion
was an unprovoked aggression on Ukraine -
that Ukrainians are the good guys and they never did anything wrong.
What about this?

Ukrainian rightists burn alive 39 at Odessa union building
May 5, 2014
Some 1,000 Ukrainian rightists, led by the notorious Right Sector,
surrounded, stormed, and burned the House of Trade Unions in Odessa last Friday,
killing 39 pro-Russia demonstrators in the building.

I bet 99% of all Russians know the story about
"Ukrainian rightists burn alive 39 at Odessa union building"
and I also bet that less than 1% of Australians or Americans know about it.
It's all about propaganda that we are fed every day.

I used to be in the Maidans favour till February 2014 but video of Odessa burning when nazzi pushed a pregnant woman back into burning building turned me against them. That was start of civil war in Ukraine too.

Democrats blamed for advising Zelensky to reject the deal:
https://nypost.com/2025/03/01/opinion/d ... eral-deal/
Before meeting Trump, Zelensky met with anti-Trump Democrats who advised him to reject the terms of the mineral deal the president was offering, according to Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.).
“Just finished a meeting with President Zelensky here in Washington. He confirmed that the Ukrainian people will not support a fake peace agreement where Putin gets everything he wants and there are no security arrangements for Ukraine,” Murphy’s office posted on X at 11:15 a.m. Friday.
He attached a picture of Zelensky at a conference table, with Murphy seated on the opposite side.
Forty minutes later, Zelensky arrived at the White House, where Trump met his car, smiled, shook his hand and walked him into the Oval Office.

Twenty-thousand troops? We only have 25 main battle tanks working at best
Left to rot in sheds, our equipment is either ancient, non-existent or yet to arrive,
while ammunition stocks would not last a week if push came to shove, says defence expert Francis Tusa

Looks like Britain is a paper tiger.
They have had 3 years to prepare for war and look at how they stuffed up.
Unbelievable.
I know someone who worked with the Yanks at a military base/airport in Germany in the early 1980s.
They were astonished at the military power of the Americans.
Within 7 to 10 hours of an order going back to the USA -
the planes would start landing and they would go all night and even all the next day.
1000s of Troops fully equipped, cargo of all types, spare parts, ammunition, heavy weapons of war -
you name it - it would all arrive quickly and much of it be trucked off the base and
sent to NATO locations.
The military power of the Yanks just dwarfs everyone else.
I don't see the Europeans putting up a proper force in Ukraine.
