It is - last time I was in Queen Street Auckland I was the only white Caucasian there.
It was full of only Chinese restaurants.

Yummy Mussels. Look like you've got a hydrothermal vent on your table Sophia.
Welcome back too! :bgrin

You've hit a sore point in Restaurants in countries.
When I was in Rotorua with my then wife. We were standing (I kid you not!!) on a street block and I was saying to her "I'm sick of bloody the same stuff (restaurants, diners, etc) we can get anywhere and even home. Bloody Italian, Chinese, Indian, Maccas, (etc, etc) - just like back home. I want to eat some real New Zealand styled food!!!!" :x
My then wife said "Look! A New Zealand Restaurant just here."
I'm like a delayed retard unable to comprehend time and space of being right in front of a 'New Zealand' styled restaurant... :b well, no I wasn't - my reaction was like "Cool!" and we walked straight in immediately before it disappeared from our consciousness like some illusion.
It was a very wonderful feeling and vibe being in a New Zealand Restaurant 'in' New Zealand. The food was amazing and in some ways - original in taste, style and type.

Reckon you've turned into a bit of a 'pud' with all that good eating in Europe Sophia. Why not? It's there to be enjoyed on such occasions.
The best is minced Paua fritters. :)

I’m devo too Jasin!
I wish I never knew how good NZ food was to now know it’s just more bland like everywhere else!

What can we do to bring back the flavour of NZ ?
Something needs to be addressed here. I want to know why it’s changed!

In fact, imagine how embarrassed I felt when I was rabbiting on about how good their potato chips tasted, to my daughter and her friend, going to NZ for first time, accompanying on a cruise with us…in 2019….

Only to be stunned to find it wasn’t like hubby and I remembered!

I’m saying … wait, something isn’t right here!

Had I known I may not have bothered to cruise to NZ mainly for the taste!
Dang!
Last time I went before that was 2011 and by golly it had the flavour then!

What the heck happened after 2011???

Last night I didn't know what I wanted to cook for dinner.
I just opened the fridge and grabbed whatever, and cooked it up.

Frankfurters with high quality tomato sauce, eggs, bacon and asparagus -
it was very tasty. :)

I'm going to have a small piece of steak, an egg and some salad tonight. I keep wasting eggs so I need to use some up.

Schlurrrpin down 'raw' eggs is very good for the brain.

Cooked eggs turns the clear into white (processed into protein) - good for the body.

I'm both - I schlurrrp em down raw and zap em for 30 secs in the microwave for cooked.

Did you both know that I used to be a Chicken Sexer? :)
