It's scary in Melbourne on the trains.Aquarius wrote: ↑Mon Apr 15, 2024 1:00 pmFortunately we don't have trains over here. In fact every time it's proposed by some idiot that the Northern Beaches should have a train line, it's shouted down by the inhabitants. No one wants easy access to the Beaches, lol. All those Westies would be pouring in. It's bad enough when they get the ferries across to Manly. So no train lines!Bobby: I got on the train in Geelong in 2019 going to Melbourne and I was only 1 of 2 White people
in a carriage of at least 40 people.
I didn't feel safe - I was too outnumbered.
2 Darkies were in the seats in front of me and were yapping the whole time
calling each other Niggers in every sentence.
But I agree about getting on a train going out south and south west. You are the only token white. It's happened to me a few times and I agree it's like living in another country. We're becoming outnumbered and it's going to get worse.

There have been more high-rise blocks going up, but the only complaint I have about where we are is that the roads are a lot busier at certain times of the day than they were when we first moved in. Otherwise I'm quite happy being here.

More like Frankston and Dandenong.
And that Frankston Pier stabbing recently… is it a surprise?….a homeless wanna be artist Aussie randomly stabbed to death an Asian fisherman, he was a dad to 3 kids. Frankston is a worry. Has been for yonks.
Anywhere where a train line goes into can bring in all sorts of trouble. And a nice train ride to the beach is always on the agenda for those with lots of time to kill… literally.

Frankston North is full of bogans.
Dandenong is only dangerous at night.
It's full of criminals.

We went back to the UK for a visit in 1974 (thats not a mistake it was 1974). We caught the underground from Heathrow to the center of London and had two kids with us a girl 8 years old and a boy of 5. I can't remember which one it was but one of them said at the top of their voice "Mam we are the only white ones on here". I didn't know what to say so kept my mouth shut.Bobby wrote: ↑Wed Apr 10, 2024 9:32 pm
Yes - we never had armed home invasions and car jackings either back in 2000.

The only significant migrant groups where I am are Chinese, British, Indian, South Korean and South African. That said, I know of one Iranian family down the road a bit.
I have noticed that things are a bit different in other parts of Sydney though. Visiting Auburn or Cabramatta, for example, is almost like visiting a different country.

The North Shore of Sydney could well be mistaken for downtown Hong Kong.

When daughter went to London in 2005, she texted me saying there are more black than white people. I didn’t realise how London was predominantly black.
Then she went back again in 2019 and didn’t even bat an eyelid this time… no mention of black, white or coloured.
Now I will be in London for a week soon…my first trip there, apart from seeing the usual sights, hopefully cross Abbey Road and go to Carnaby Street.
My son found a live cam link overlooking Abbey road, and said to let him know when we are there so he can watch it live
It’s probably best early morning as I’ve heard during the day it could be a half hour wait in line to cross and the motorists get cranky and beep their horns.
