Being a bit pro-Russian proves that he will give at least a more 'two sides of the story' than an Anti-Russian that will just pump out propaganda lies.
At least, wether one likes to hear it or not - he'll give a 'balanced' view. If he was ultra-Pro Russian and Anti-USA, it would be very obvious and one sided.

But at one part he says that in 1991 the USA sent 550,000 troops to the Gulf war but
now they could only send 40,000 if they took on Iran.
Where does he get his numbers from?
Has the USA lost over 90% of its forces?

USA can't commit to draining its forces from other parts of the world to take on Iran logistically.
