Starlink satellite internet.
Starlink satellite internet.
Got mine day before yesterday, set it up yesterday, finally got the scan of the sky completed.
Did a test just now. Holy Moly:
Download: 286Mbps
Upload: 12.7Mbps
Not bad at all!

You're the only person I know who doesn't have Skype.

To be fair Bobby there is a perfectly logical explanation for that. Dumbarse Drunk can’t very well Skype with himself AND not 1 person in the entire globe is desperate enough to want to Skype with him either

It's saved me a lot of money on overseas phone calls.lisa jones wrote: ↑Thu Jul 06, 2023 7:24 pmTo be fair Bobby there is a perfectly logical explanation for that. I can call other Skype users and talk for free and for those
who aren't I can dial their numbers and talk for pennies.

How does the cost compare?
Always remember what you post, send or do on the internet is not private and you are responsible.
Re: Starlink satellite internet.
I pay $135.month.
No real competition.
Only NBN tech is their satellite. The revamped version will do 25:5 <== Somebody tell NBN Co this is the 21st century! I live in a village—we should not be on fucking satellite, keep that for the truly remote! Too cheap to put up a FW tower.
But with Starlink NBN Co are starting to sweat. I chatted with the postmistress here when picking it up, seems a few here have moved to Starlink and love it and my village will do that more and more, and other localities too.
I got over 300mb down, upload a bit under twenty but that is more than the download with ADSL. Telstra should have sent a tech here, look at the copper: when was the last time the copper was used?
