So who did you vote for?

Post by Swami Dring » Sat Aug 21, 2010 8:47 pm

Me - Greens in the lower house, Sex Party in the senate.

Would have voted Sex Party in both if they had a candidate in the lower house in my electorate.

I voted green in the house. It was of course not so much a vote for green as a vote against J&T. Bob Brown no doubt sees his house seat and increased senate influence as an endorsement of his party, or the beginning of a movement. It's not - it's a disendorsement of the other fluffy bunnies and nothing more. Next election when and if the majors have a credible leader (Turnbull? We can only hope) his party will be crushed into obscurity once again.

I voted Joseph Toscano in the senate.

This has been the worst election in my living memory. And the result does it justice. A hung parliament. I only hope the GG calls for a do over.

Dems and Sex. I'm in a safe seat though, so my house of reps vote is pretty much a throw away one anyway

They was the "protest vote" party before the gweens. I'm pissed off enough with the greens to start protesting them too, along with the other fluffy bunnies :P

I think it's telling that, while the biggest swing gain has been toward greens, the second biggest swing gain has been informal.

Informal is polling at nearly 6% of the primary vote. Informal has twice as many votes as the nationals - and the nationals have 6 fucking seats.

This is fair enough, but I'm still way to dirty at the dems over Meg Lees to start giving them votes again.

I'm sure Brown is smart enough to know that he's getting the protest vote but it looks like Green won't have balance of power anyway so he's not so important anyway.

I really think that this will be the end of the broadband roll-out regardless of who forms gov't and that's a real backwards step for Australia.

You must be more savvy and divining the senate make up from provision quota than me. How do you know the balance of power in the senate?
