SCOTUS ~ abortion

News is that somehow a draft majority decision of SCOTUS on Rose -v- Wade has been leaked. Two things:

1. If that is true, a very high head must role.

2. I can assure you that any Judge can write a coherent and legally impregnable decision after they start with an entrenched personal moral belief.

Those who couldn't define a woman last week are suddenly outraged. I guess this my body my choice doesn't apply to vaccines and masks it's only an issue with abortions.

It appears the male judges in the SCOTUS twisted the constitution to get the result they wanted with Roe Vs Wade.
The case they're working with is Mississipi restricting abortions after 16 weeks, not sure if we still restrict them after 12 weeks.

If abortion is not a constitutional issue as this leaked paper indicates then there is nothing to stop old Joe from making a federal law legalising it and it can't be challenged in the SCOTUS as a constitutional issue, the Democrats have the numbers to do this. The only thing stopping them is the pro life democrats who will not vote for it therefore they don't really have the numbers so they will blame everyone else for their lack of action.

No National secrets jeopardizing National Security were divulged, so unless you can show a specific Federal law was broken, I doubt there will be any forthcoming investigation by the US Justice Department. My guess it was leaked by a liberal Justice just to stir the leftist juices prior to the inevitable. 8-)

No National secrets jeopardizing National Security were divulged, so unless you can show a specific Federal law was broken, I doubt there will be any forthcoming investigation by the US Justice Department. My guess it was leaked by a liberal Justice just to stir the leftist juices prior to the inevitable. 8-)
Decisions of any Court are meant to be highly confidential (until officially given) and any breach of that is considered serious enough to warrant an investigation and a 'beheading.'

Seriously, it's not a 'decision', it's only an 'opinion', & will in no way undermine the Court's operation.

The Supreme Court and Chief Justice John Roberts put out rare, written statements Tuesday to address the leak of a draft opinion showing the panel's conservative majority of justices is poised to overturn nearly 50 years of established abortion rights -- sparking outrage across the country.

The statement on behalf of the court confirmed the document's authenticity, saying, "Although the document described in yesterday's reports is authentic, it does not represent a decision by the Court or the final position of any member on the issues in the case."

In a separate statement, but released together with the one from the court, Roberts called the leak a "singular and egregious breach" of trust -- but defended the court's workforce and integrity, saying this will not undermine its operation.

"To the extent this betrayal of the confidences of the Court was intended to undermine the integrity of our operations, it will not succeed. The work of the Court will not be affected in any way," Roberts said.

'Opinion' is what they call decisions in US Courts. It is stated publicly that the leaked document is the opinion (ie the decision) of the majority.

You may wish to play a donnish game of semantics, but the United States Supreme Court has yet to make and deliver their final decision. Agreed....but.....SCOTUS has already confirmed that the leaked 'draft' is the majority view.

Agreed....but.....SCOTUS has already confirmed that the leaked 'draft' is the majority view.
Excuse my edited post above. You posted before I could finish it.

A 'draft' is not 'final'. Views may change as they have in the past, in the Court's final decision making phase, in their 'Final Conference' behind closed doors, prior to delivering the 'Final Decision' in open court, to the public.

What do you reckon is gonna change that majority view from the time the draft was leaked? Public opinion? Nah...that draft will become the final decision.
