Unsub was no on DeepShit’s site.
You love talking FOR the UnSub nic.

Any chance we can hear from him?
It was too long ago for me to remember when and where I was when I was posting to some site that had Political Animal as a name. I recall I was on Debate and Relate until I decided to go elsewhere. I think that site has shut down. And PublicDebate is no more for a long time, even though it had a brief reincarnation in 2008.

Respect is earned. Start earning it...by respecting the Constitution of PA.
Coming from you, that is quite a hypocritical statement.

I doubt that you have even read the Constitution of PA to have any "respect" for it. Whoever wrote that rubbish needs to revise the wording very quickly. The oxymoron "democratic dictatorship" for one needs to be reviewed. Then it goes on with this crap:
1) This constitution is designed and intended to limit the power of exalted leader. The rational interpretation that places the greatest restriction on exalted leader's authority, and the greatest power in the hands of members, shall prevail.
So, is it a dictatorship or a democracy? Given the elections we have, it would be democratic. But, given that my vote does not seem to count among the already established members, it is not guaranteed. And if the constitution is "designed and intended to limit the power of the 'exalted leader'", then it is not a dictatorship. The wording alone in the first 'principle' is confused at best.
A petition can be used to trigger an election for the position of exalted leader or to trigger a referendum. A petition will be deemed successful if the number of signatories meets or exceeds the magic number. The magic number is calculated as follows: take the number of valid votes from the last election, divide by two, round up if necessary (by adding 0.5), then subtract the number of people who submitted a valid vote in that election who are currently unable to sign due to the actions of the admin (eg if they are banned or suspended). The signature of a banned member is not counted if the magic number has already been reduced on their account. All petitions remain active until they succeed or the current exalted leader is replaced with someone else. Once a referendum or election is triggered by a petition, it cannot be 'untriggered'.
This could have been summarised as "all valid votes are counted only. Banned/suspended member votes are not valid". The above paragraph is difficult to understand. It should be written in point format.

Whilst I am on the subject of voting, surely we can see how pointless a vote is for forums when the concept of "sock puppet" members does exist. Someone might have 3 accounts in action and be able to vote 3 times. And lisa jones, I am looking in your direction.
Where a provision of the constitution undermines the authority of exalted leader, exalted leader is obliged to support the provision.
So, what is it? The exalted leader has authority over the forum? Or the forum has authority over the exalted leader? From what I gather, the exalted leader has the task of administrating the forum with only a few other special benefits. Ergo, I do not really give a damn about whether my vote counts or not. When you have a tough time trying to elect an administrator (aka "exalted leader") of a forum because you cannot adequately interpret or even reinterpret what is being stated, it is difficult to respect the democratic process of a forum.

I will respect the constitution when someone knows how to write and publish a proper constitution.

Take your argument to freediver. He wrote it. I hope to have it amended but given you don't support that (see my Manifesto and your vote) I might not bother.

Okay, can you tell me what Monk posted that made common sense? Was it to have an exorcism of Bobby, or calling BO 'poison ivy' etc, constantly carping and making demands, threatening people...what exactly?

:huh?

Goodness me. I wrote my last reply to you in the context of it being unrelated to who I vote for. I mean that I am going to ally (whether explicitly stated or otherwise implied) with those that show common sense. I have no time for your little bitch fights you are having with Monk. Leave me out of that.
