they used to have over 60,000 nuclear weapons.
It was criminal.
It's now down to 10% of that.
Just how stupid do you have to be to think that 12 000+ nukes is good outcome
John - you have no idea - leave this to the adults.

An ADULT would realise that there are still enough very powerful nuclear weapons to wipe out most life on the planet.
Guess that means Booby isn’t an adult.

If it wasn't for SALT 1 and SALT 2 we wouldn't be here -

And these newer, more powerful nukes could still pretty much wipe out the human race, right?

Sure - it's still criminal to have as many nukes as there are.
I believe it's a crime against humanity to have so many nukes.
e.g. if you point a loaded gun at someone it's a criminal offence -
you would be sent to jail -
yet countries think they can point nukes at each others cities full of 10s of millions of people
and somehow that is lawful.
No one has any right to point a nuclear missile at a city where I live.
Go figure?
We need a Nuremberg 2 trial and then hang the lot of them.

So there is no real difference apart from the nuclear material in the old bombs being turned into fuel for nuclear power stations.

The nukes use Plutonium which is not used in nuclear power stations.

Plutonium 239 is used in nukes - not much Uranium 235.
Uranium fuel rods used enriched Uranium at about 4% of U235.
Monk - no offence but you should stay out of topics you know little about.
I am ready to educate you though.
